Would it be an overkill to use something like this in a car? What would be the best way to connect to the car's sound system? 3.5mm will probably degrade the quality quite a bit...

If your sound system in the car has a line in input, use the line out on the music player.
Use a cable like this. Probably a shorter one would be best.
3.5 would be fine unless you have a ridiculous setup in your car.

Just buy an Audioquest Dragonfly Black and use that with a USB OTG cable to your existing phone, unless you absolutely want a separate device.
It'll be a better quality of AMP and DAC and you don't need to put up with a ropey UI.

never knew you lost sound quality over Bluetooth you learn soothing everyday.
was like looking at a FiiO X1II/X1 2nd Generation Portable High Resolution Music Player over this because of Bluetooth mainly.

How much better would this be than an iPhone 6S?

as far as I'm aware iPhone 6s doesn't support/play lossless but I could be wrong. get a HTC 10 if you want to carry around just 1 device, the DAC in the phone is a beast and comes with some decent hi-fi earphones for cheaper than the price of a crappy iPhone 6s

You could get an adapter but why would you buy a hifi music player then wreck the quality by using BT?

Bluetooth is lossy, so not much point feeding lossless audio to bluetooth headphones tbh.

Yeah - they're all a variation of tomtop or tomorrow something. Says arrivel by 26th so assuming that the stock is in uk or lots of poor feedback for delivery times.
I'm mulling it over.

I had a look at the item location states Middlesex but the seller is in China.
Not sure how that works.
Perhaps they have a repository over here.
Looking at all the sellers that have them, they all seem to be based in Middlesex lol

good price, was looking at these players when they were £70 . . so i bought the Agptek Imp instead . which is good, only the one sd card but still nice. will be looking again at this again now... nice if these were .uk sellers ..
aNd to the comment above comparing this to I phone... This is only a player for music,,, not a phone, depends what you want to carry around with you in your pocket..... in prefer separate music players..

Had my eye on the X3 for a while, very tempting. Scores highly on sound quality and seems to have a powerful headphone output, though the battery life, screen and interface are less than impressive. Installing Rockbox appears to be essential too.
This, the new Fiio X1 II... or something else <£100?

The new Fiio seems to have teething problems. This one has poor battery life and a sluggish UI. I am tempted by the old x1 atm.
