Same here about reserving in-store. If I order in-store can I still bypass the £10 top up, that I would have done through fast track?

I bought the phone. the GPS can be slow using Google Maps and sometimes inaccurate on dual carriageways - it thinks you are on the other side! On the good side it has a feature to change app permissions so you can turn off location access for your photo apps for example. Good little workhorse for 15 pounds

If you are unsure about rooting don't do it. IT'S not guaranteed and if you brick your phone argos will not accept it back and for 99p guaranteed from eBay it's a no brainer.

Haven't rooted the phone because of a certain app and anyway, there's that that the unlock code only costs 99p.

It's a great deal. I wonder if it's possible to unlock the phone by using a rooted app but I'm not that experienced with it to know.
Have to buy £10 credit also though, so actually £24.99??

Are you comparing a £900 phone to a £15 phone? I'd go with the latter for being super cheap and very personalisable. It's of course not as fast as newer phones but does the job.
I'm very pleased with the purchase. The battery itself isn't too bad and if I need to recharge the cable is just besides it.

I would go with the iphone 7 for the water resistant as the performance and build quality are the same for both phones. :stuck_out_tongue:

The phone is fine for basic apps and utilities and based on that, I've nothing against. It's pretty good for what it is.
I'd post the two apps that I'm using it for (gain free Amazon/Paypal credit just by leaving it running) but chances are it'd get frozen cold for whatever reason and so, I'll just leave it off HUKD. I could PM you the names of the two apps if you're interested.

:stuck_out_tongue: Seems ok as a spare needed one quickly as my other one broke and is away for repair. Granted not the fastest or the best screen but what do you expect for £15. The SIM is inside the box and you can choose to activate and pay for it if you want to. Of course you can use it on other vodaphone virtual systems like Talk talk, Age UK, bemillo, 360Coms Telecom, Lebara Mobile etc without needing to unlock and its only 99p to unlock on ebay

I've got one as an emergency phone - It's really cheap but it's slow as hell and struggles with opening web pages let alone anything else.
It can't multi-task, if you open another app, the one you were using will close due to lack of memory.
I've tried using it as a sat nav and it's honestly so slow that you're three streets past your turning before it tells you.
If you just want a cheap phone that can do whatsapp then great.
If you're not sure, try one out at a Vodafone before hand.

i brought smart 6 a few months ago instead of this one as it has a bigger screen, it was £10 and a pretty decent phone, does everything you need, music etc, its sometimes takes a little longer to load some things but i think if you are spoilt by what the iPhone can do i think everything will seem slow. so i imagine this one would be much more improved anyway even if it has a smaller screen.

Probably good enough for someone wanting to play retro games such as NES, SNES, Mega Drive, Game Gear, etc. ROMs can be stored on memory card. Emulators won't take up much room at all. Screen is small but it just makes it so much cuter

I wanted to change my number a couple months ago so instead of just buying credit i found that i could get an alcatel phone free if i payed for £10 top up which i used for my current phone, I just thought why not and it turns out its a pretty decent torch that will last for hours without problem and is as small as two fingers together... it also makes calls if you need.

If you can find a Vodafone Smart First 6 it's better than the 7 for most specs. Same for the Smart Ultra 6 vs 7. Vodafone seem to be going backwards.

As a spare it seems like a good option. Amazon reviewers criticised it for its awful battery, not sure if they're totally true or not. I definitely don't trust the Vine reviews.
