found these on camskill and ordered 4 they have good reviews. these are the extra loads but the normal load are cheaper. 52.85 plus shipping cheapest I've seen at the moment. camskill seem to have good reviews too so not expecting any problems.
Delivery is £6.96 to £13.96 depending on whether you buy 1 or 4 tyres.

I'd only use these places to fit tyres I'm not keen on part worn I've had too many bad experiences usually lumps in the tyres and you never know if they have been driven on at a low pressure damaging the sidewall etc. best off spending the extra few quid for new tyres

Never purchased tyres online, how much roughly does a garage/tyre place charge for fitting four tyres to your existing rims?
Robj1 to Wowhats

Usually about £10 per corner

I suppose it depends where you take them. places like quick fit probably won't fit them because you didn't purchase from them.
best prices are usually at places where they sell part worns from past experience.

Really good tyre, tread designed for wet and dry balance but work really well in the wet. Would recommend these over most on market for the money.

My car runs 215/50/17s, could I put these on, as they are a lot cheaper?
Adiebear to martyboy70

Should be ok, these are slighty wider so may possibly have clearance issues ( but I doubt it ) Only other issue would your insurance company class it as a undeclared modification when trying to wriggle out of a claim,

If you have a Vectra then yes. I did it a few years ago as the 215/50 were £149 each. Note it will lower the car slightly and because you've altered the diameter of the tyre the speed you're actually driving at compared to what it says on the speedometer will also change. Your odometer (mileage) will also be different. I had Rainsport 2 and they stuck like glue, car felt much safer. Sounds obvious but you MUST change all four.

I fitted 215 replacing original 205 manufacturer spec before now going off information on a forum for my car at the time.

These are the best tyres I have ever had. Great grip in all conditions, with wet grip particularly remarkable. I put them on my last car and was really pleased. My newer car came with Pirelli Cintauratos which frankly scared the hell out of me, so after nearly crashing from hitting a not particularly deep patch of standing water, at quite low speed, I fitted these again and the car was transformed. I don't think I would risk fitting anything else now.

Got these in a different size, they were roughly this price on camskill and I rang around a few tyre shops and got someone to price match them, great tyres

I must be the only person in the world that doesn't like these tyres. While I can't fault them for grip they are good. I find they have an annoying scraping of the tread at low speed cornering. It annoys me so much I can't wait for them to wear out so I can choose something different.

This is always on offer but you will never get 225/50/17 which is more popular... Still good deal but I tried replacing 225/50 with 225/45 a while ago and it didn't look good... Can anybody find 265/30/20 in good price?

I need to replace 235/55R17. Would these be ok, especially given it's winter coming up, so a narrower tyre will be arguably better? I used to know a website that would say what could be swapped with what, but I cannot find it now.
This price is great. I paid £110 each for my Dunlop SportMaxx RT extraloads, which seemed a good price. I bought on the spec and the tyre is definitely quieter that the Pirellis and Continentals I had on in the past.

No. They might be thinner which should be ok for your wheel as its only one size down but also the profile is lower so the rolling circumference is less so can throw your speedo out. You always need to keep rolling circumference the same.
This is a good website that will give you an idea what you can fit: Will they Fit
I like these tyres, excellent in the wet but also very sticky in the dry. My only grip is that because the tread is quite wide, gravel/stones easily get stuck in the tread and can be annoying. Usually they work their way out after a few miles though.
I haven't had them fitted long but reviews say they wear out very quickly, for me this isn't a problem and it is to be expected with how soft the compound is and the level of grip they produce.

Really liked these or something similar by uniroyal on my Focus. Found the cornered excellently and felt very confident in the wet, however seemed to struggle for traction in the dry sometimes (got stuck on steep hills twice where the car would no longer go forwards and started slipping sideways in one case). I've never had wheel spin since replacing them with my current tyres.

anyone running these make sure you run a higher psi than you normally would, I had to have 32psi on my fronts to stop them from destroying themselves.

I had normal Rainsport fitted few years back (dot 2013) - they barely last a year and became dangerous on the second (no grip, looking dry and way older with small cracks). RainExpert proved good though.

I've been running Rainexperts now for a couple of years & love them.......best wet grip I've ever had from a tyre....and not had any issues with dry grip either !!
Currently got around 27k on the fronts & still at least another 10k of life left in them......would certainly buy again

That's when you have to decide what you want out of a tyre; grip, or life. You can't really have both.
At this price these are a bargain (although last set I ordered from Camskill, in January, they were only £49.50 each so they have crept up a tad).

for the performance and safety of these tyres and considering the price of them, you can't really go wrong even if you only manage 1 year out of them. Our roads are always wet and these seem to be the best in this price range.

Thanks a million for the advice and link. Actually, if anything, I'd prefer tyres that have a slightly higher profile (not much) for fuel economy and comfort. I've done that before on old cars and it can make a tad difference (just need to allow for the speedo). It's nice if you don't need the acceleration, just to knock a few RPM off at high speeds. More relaxing.
Given what you say, the tyres for my size (235/55R17) are coming up at £74, which still 'seems' a good price. Is it? Or is that about normal for these tyres?
Thanks again.

Great wear rate on these tyres. Had them fitted to my bmw 520d f10 for nearly a year now, however at between 65 and 75 mph they make a rumbling noise, but quiet up to and after the said speeds. weird? Is that to do with wheel camber anyone????????
siadwel to fozey
4 Oct 16#44
If the noise wasn't there when you first had them fitted it could be the tyres. After some tyre wear mine always sounded like a bearing was going, even mechanics were fooled, but as soon as tyres were changed the noise would go for a while until they had a certain amount of wear again.
