Not really but theres objects and references from the other games which you wont understand if you dont and you wont have the same attachment to some of the characters unless you have played the others.
The Game website defaults to mobile site on anything less powerful than a Cray super computer.
And refuses to keep the "full site" for more than one click after you select it.
