Very expensive elsewhere. Great to stock up with.

but I have to agree with u that even at 50p or 60p for a 330ml can, maybe around 70p for a big bottle, it is still significantly cheaper in China, thanks to the UK tax protection, or most of the local brewers will be bankrupt.

I dont know where you can bought the 330ml can at 25p, even some cheaper brands sold at around 4rmb, that is about 50p at current rate in most convenience shops in Shanghai or Beijing. Tsingdao is definitely the top brand without any doubt in China.

There's a LOT of "fake" alcohol in china. What I mean by fake is low grade alcohol which has the packaging of recognised brands, so often you might find bargains in china on bottles of Grey Goose, Hennessy, scotch Whiskeys etc, but they are not the real deal. Makes me wonder if your 25p Tsingtao was legit?

Possibly but the can looked right and tasted fine. This price was in less westernised areas and in the tourist or better areas it was more expensive, I recall around 40-75p. I think you do have to be more careful about the spirits although I wanted to buy one of the 5lt plastic bottles of 'vodka' for about £2 but the missus wouldn't let me.

711 totally went down the fake alcohol route. I was in Foshan, not Shanghai or Beijing.

After living in China for over a year, I can safely say TsingTao is cheap as hell in China. 2.5rmb for a can 330ml in most shops including 711 and would routinely sell 4 X 500ml cans for 10 rmb for an offer

When I was in China last year I managed to find it for around 25p for a 500ml can. Although it was a lot more in westernised shops.
And yes it is a very nice beer!

Are these just 330ml cans?
3 x 640ml for a fiver at Tesco, Asda and Morrison's.
The cans are cheaper, £2.26 per litre compared to £2.60 per litre for the bottles.

Funny how other countries cheap beers are our premium ones

As a Chinese I can tell you that Tsingtao is the best beer in China and it is not cheap! it is cheaper than the sold price here that is solely because of UK tax on alcohol
