1st Deal post so hopefully I've done it right. I've had this backpack on my wishlist for a few weeks but was going to order the all black version which is currently OOS.
When checking back on the item for stock I noticed the "Flint" coloured backpack was half the price of the other colours.
The item gets great reviews without relying on big brand name lovers falsely overrating items.
Silly question perhaps but are these waterproof in typical British rainfall? And if not any backpack aficionados able to recommend a good-quality similar pack that is, please? :smiley:

I looked extensively last year for doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks and came to the conclusion that they don't exist. All that is required is a rain cover for your chosen backpack or waterproof said backpack with fabsil, scotchguard or nikwax.
This year though, I found out about a company called Overboard and they do waterproof backpacks amongst other things but they looked bulky and I bet they were expensive too.

No not waterproof some of the bags come with rain covers.

None of them can be trusted in a day long downpour. Even those with covers are only really showerproof up to a point. Put a decent quality poly bag inside the sac.

I have one of these which has kept things dry in fairly heavy rain, you need not to overfill it to keep the protection.
if jeep are better quality that this one then don't buy! bought one jeep 3 months ago, quality is crap!! zips are a joke, won't last much...:disappointed:

I have a drybag from a company called Lomo (http://www.ewetsuits.com/acatalog/Dry-Boxes-dry-bags-uk.html) who do a wide variety of waterproof bags similar to Overboards and really well priced. I've used mine in torrential rain for a couple of hours on my motorbike, everything inside completely dry! Hope this helps.

It may have been fake.. was it from eBay ? Theres fakes of pretty much anything these days, but that being said, their older stuff was pretty crap. the jeep bag I have is solid as a rock. 100% nylon, smooth and strong zips. side bottle - nets that havent ripped in years.

It isn't waterproof like the overboard gear that can be submerged. I have an overboard duffle, it is quite weighty, the rucksack linked is very light.
