Hot as will pay for itself after the first use.
depends on what your stealing, last job I did was a piece of cake, disabled alarm, picked lock on front door, used super glue and tape to get finger print for the safe and then even bigger safe had to use liquid nitrogen to expand the old metal and it came off its hinges, all that and it was some old motorcycle suit (I thought) :sunglasses:

Return all the equipment except the balaclava. Just take a brick, or hammer and a screwdriver, they are cheaper and will get into 95% of houses quicker than any of the equipment you bought, bar the sledge hammer.

You're joking aren't you? I've gone and bought a black jacket now, and don't have enough money to buy a blue and white stripped jumper or disguise kit. I'm going to have to wait until next pay day now. I don't want to look like an amateur when I start!!

To let you know how a cylinder key works. When you put the key in, all the pins become the same height allowing the barrel to turn . Or so I'm told...! You aint seen me right.....

No self respecting burglar would be seen in a black jacket. It's common practise to use a blue and white striped jumper. And maybe a cunning disguise with the moustache that hangs off the glasses.

A lot of commercial locks are as poor as this one it's true. You get what you pay for. If you've watched some videos you'll know that some locks are extremely difficult to pick, and defeat experts.

The police can open a locked door in seconds using a special device. It consists of a heavy metal tube with handles on it that is applied judiciously to the door lock.

I got one a few weeks ago, brilliant product and quite easy to get the hang of once you've read the instructions or watched some videos. I thought maybe they had supplied a trick lock which was purposely easy, but then I tried on other pad locks and worked on those too. Very cool product :-)

That where you are wrong.. The police need criminals! Or they'd be out of work! The police have a net with holes in, some get caught but some get away and that's the way they like it.. Crime could be cut in half over night if we only eradicated the injustice of poverty but that would be too easy :/

Note that it receives a fakespot grade of F, suggesting that the reviews and high score are not to be trusted. I would guess this applies to the reviews on the Banggood.com site also.http://fakespot.com/product/15-piece-unlocking-lock-pick-set-key-extractor-tool-transparent-practice-padlocks

Speaking as a retd Locksmith, its adequate. Cheap padlocks are a piece of **** to pick anyway and there are easier ways to open them. It all comes down to the quality of the lock.

eBay sell them separately for £2.50 delivered.
There's another model plastic see through lock on eBay that you assemble yourself which is reportedly more of a challenge... The above lock is only held by two pins.
There are more expensive cutaway brass locks and also repinnable ones for £18 that will last you years.
Having said that, I got a see through one for my kids so that they weren't discouraged easily.

Banggood free post and package, just a slower deliver charge and where do you think the Amazon one came from originally. I shop with Banggood regularly for years and only had one problem, a long wait for a restock but the value for money it was worth the wait.

Thanks OP
I never knew all this existed. I have become an expert in the past hour using google.
Just bought myself, a set of lock picks, a bump key, a credit card pick set, a fire brigade master key set, a mortice lock set, a set of lock jiggler keys, a DIY lock breakers manual for beginners, a balaclava, black jacket and trousers and a sledge hammer.
Can any pro advise what I may have forgotten?

Although handy for a total beginner, the picks that come with these are usually horrible.
As for the burglary aspect, no common thief is going to spend the time to learn how to use them when bolt-cutters are so much quicker and easier (hell you could even shim a padlock if you didn't want to leave a broken lock quicker and easier).

Also available on Amazon Prime for 61p more .
Slightly upsetting that I paid about 20 quid for something similar without the practice lock. Silly me for not checking elsewhere. :disappointed:
Lots of fun to be had if you have a bit of tuition and a lot of patience. Tho I think the practice lock is going to be very helpful for the visual learner, I know I would still really like one. Anyone know if it's available separately?

i don't know which area you live in. I seriously cannot see west Yorkshire police getting in touch with every retailer of these. easier to hang about down the local pawn shop or drug dealers. imagine them checking receipts for bolt cutters or slide hammers every time a car or shed was done.

Get a lock pick gun.....much easier & no skill required ;-) Or with a padlock just use a set of bolt cutters
It has to be said these are actually sold to train locksmiths.......
I don't think burglars actually pick locks to break in....too time consuming & many locks like those on my house are pick, snap & bump proof...that is why the preferred tool of the common crook is a simple brick through a window !!
