Thanks goonertillidie!
I got a 15" HP laptop (Core i3-5010u, 6GB RAM and 1TB HDD), down from £379 to £150. (I'm just installing my SSD and putting Win 10 into it now...)
Awesome because I couldn't afford to replace my rather old and disintergrating Lenovo X201 until I saw your post. Very much appreciated!
They had Celeron laptops for the same money, but the i3 is a much better fit for me. The Asus ones looked rather nice, but I picked function over form.
Plus a couple of 1TB HDDs (£25 a piece) which has saved me £20 on my Christmas presents.

Items vary per store. I believe the way it works is they reduce the prices based on the products which are not selling well according to the stock system SMART in that particular store, it's normally the 100 worst selling lines. This is why they call it a Toxic Stock sale because the items reduced are not selling very well. Also I would imagine it would exclude ASDA supermarkets which are netto converted stores as they stock only the basic electrical stuff. Most of the good stuff will have already gone, the local ASDA living store near me only had a hard drive and panasonic 32" tv left. The iPad was never guaranteed to be at every store this is basically a clearence of stock that isn't selling very well. It's not like black friday where they bring stock into every store for the event, this is purely a clerance sale to get rid of the worst selling lines they already have in store. Some of the stores that do sell iPads won't all be selling them at the cheap price mentioned in this thread if they have sold well in that particular store when at normal price as they are not considered toxic if selling well. All I can say is any decent stuff has already been bought up in your store unless it's a small store/netto converter in which case they won't be involved in it in the first place.

15 Oct 16#112
Whilst your right saying you're not allowed to, and that you don't necessarily have priority (apart from the obvious priority of having access to warehouse stock), it's tosh to claim it doesn't happen. I have a relative who does this regular, including on double discount day before other staff get to consoles etc and empty stock!

Absolutely nothing in scunthorpe. This can't be a nationwide sale, some stores had no stock to begin with, and others have them in stock at normal price. Asda ends up ahead as we end up spending on other stuff when inside the store.

It's not a perk of the job at all. Their perk of the job is a 10% discount card as well as double discount days/week. It's actually against their contract to hide away stock for themselves and breaks walmarts global ethics policy which all ASDA staff have to follow.
