If I understood that comment correctly then you've been sold a fake card. It's quite common with micro sd apparently, although i've never experienced it personally. You should be covered under warranty, where did you buy it?

It should definitely work, some people have reported 128GB and 200GB working on the Samsung Galaxy Note III

U won't get full speed as the Notes not up to it.
