The game will come with episode 1 installed and the rest downloadable as they are released. The episodes are downloaded via the disc so the disc is resellable.

Just mentioned it to be clear, by purely the description it could be mistaken that one could simply put the disc in get access to the game downloads and sell off the disc and continue to play the game.

I'm not quite sure what your point is. I already said that you access all episodes via the game, so yes, you need the disc in to play any of them. Episodes beyond the first are essentially treated as DLC and the disc itself is the season pass. When you sell the game, the next person can do exactly as you've done, but you'll no longer be able to launch the game without the disc.

but it makes sense that you still need to disc to play any of the episodes. Otherwise in theory you could pass around the disc to an unlimited number of people simply to activate the game.

Yeah i dont like the model either, im not sure though whether the disc just acts as a constant season pass though so you might be able to resell it if thats the case but im not sure since ive never bought telltale games in a physical manner before.

This release model seems like the worst of both worlds. Need to go to a store/insert the disc when you play, yet can't resell when finished and have to wait for every episode.
No critique on the deal itself though.

i think the Batman game follows a simular format, and that can be traded in (it's on the CEX website and I have seen preowned copies in Game). If that is the case, probably the best way to play it - buy the disk, get the episodes then trade in when finished. Looks like the disk allows you to download a special locked version of the episodes, which can only be played with the disk inserted (Activision are doing something simular with Modern Warfare)

You can resell it. Simply having the disc in the console gives you access to all available episodes. They're downloaded from within the game, not PSN.
