Seems to be the cheapest preorder for the walking dead season 3 for ps4/xbox one. Looking forward to getting this day one personally even though i know the price will reduce. The disc will come with episode 1 on disc and the season pass which will allow you to download the episodes digitally as they come out.
i just wish they would do another season of wolf among us

I never buy TTG games early on anymore, it always feels like a slap in the face come episode 3 or 4 when they knock 50% off the price (then usually just before or after the release of the last episode they knock 75% off). If they waited to reduce the price until when the game had been fully released for a month then I could support them, but not when they reduce it half way through development. A warning to anyone else thinking of biting at this point

Personally, I never buy TTG anymore full stop, just because the whole "your choices matter!" thing is so transparently a lie - your choices might slightly affect the path you take, but in the end you'll reach more-or-less the exact same destination. And without the "choice" element these games are basically just interactive cartoons.
The first Walking Dead was a masterpiece in spite of the false choices, just because the story and characters were so damn good. None of their games since then have been anywhere near as compelling, and the "false choice" mechanic becomes less forgivable the more they repeat it.
I realise that making the choices matter would be a lot of work. But when it's the games' unique (and only?) selling point, I don't think it's unreasonable to complain that the implementation is so poor. They should focus on making two or three games that have proper branching plots rather than constantly churning out half-assed games based on every franchise they can get their hands on.

really don't like that they only include episode 1 on the disk, another game that will be lost when download servers turn off.

Just a note. The disc will come with episode 1 and then it's basically like the season pass on disc and you need to download each episode after 1

Love that they've finally improved the graphics. Hate that they still use crappy animation instead of motion capture :disappointed:

I think it gives the game a comic feel and charm myself. As long as the engine isn't glitchy.

How much were the previous seasons?
I don't remember them being anywhere near as expensive as this!

Five episodes, each costing £4 each I believe, although the Telltale Batman episodes are £4.99 / £5.35 each (and the RRP on the disk is £30)

Don't think Microsoft will be closing their online store anytime soon.

I have seen the physical copies of Telltale Batman in Game, and it has a listing on the CEX website. Does that mean the disc acts as some sort of key to download the additional episodes, rather than a digital code to redeem the rest?
daveroy to m.ad

Yeah that's exactly how it works. The disc allows you to download the future episodes and is always required to play the game.

I agree for the most part, but its the experience which you sign up for. Both me and my sister played through TWD seasons one and two, but both of us made different choices and experienced two different games. We both chose different endings in Season 2 for different reasons, and when we were discussing it it was like a different story. Its not always about the end result, its about the path you take to get there

Yeah, I bet Kenny is barely in the new Walking Dead, for example, as you could have chosen the chick over him. They'd have to essentially create two games now.

I felt the same way after the first walking dead game, they pushed the idea of choice mattering in their game to the press who related the idea to us. I even remember them saying that your choices could massively affect the group of survivors you take in to the final episode, which made me laugh when I saw how they covered themselves over that claim. The thing is the disappointment I felt was all their own doing as, if it had been marketed as an interactive novel, it could have stood on its own merits.
For me now though the formula is getting a bit tired, there is only so many times I can put up with some quick time events to advance a story. The choices don't make enough difference to make me feel my time wouldn't be better spent watching a film instead.

Yep, near impossible to get Brazil PSN credit, PSN wont accept paypal or credit cards from other regions so have to rely on being able to buy digital codes elsewhere.
