Loved this game when I played a couple of years ago on my PC, and wanted to give it a go on the Xbox which I purchased recently. Looking around I could see this was being released. Smyths were coming in one of the cheapest on Google but noticed they have an extra £5 off of pre-order games using code PRE5. Seems the best price around at the moment but happy to be corrected before taking the plunge. Same price too for the PS4.
Click & Collect is Free, you will need to find something 1p and above to get free delivery.

You're right. Why would that be in the box with this game if it can't be used? Other than maybe try and tempt me to buy that too!

Included in the box is a 25 digit code for a 'dragon warrior costume' and 'yokudan carger mount'. It says to go to xbox store> games> use a code but when I try I get the following message.
Check the instructions that came with your code. You might need to redeem it on a different web page.

I've just picked my copy up from the store. It cost me a gallon or so of diesel to do so which has probably wiped out the pre-order discount, lol.

Figured as much, didn't arrive on release day, even though it was dispatched on Tuesday. Won't be preordering from Smyths again.

No longer works. The Smyths website really messed me around last night. I tried to log in without joy, so changed the password, it then did not recognise the new password. So I set up a new account but as the transaction was authorising the website froze, I refreshed and it authorised. Checking the recent orders it had been processed and charged me twice without the discount being applied, meaning I had to try to contact customer services. They only advertise an email address to contact them, fortunately I found an alternate customer service number on google. I then spent 20mins on hold to a premium rate number trying to get it resolved. They could not honour yesterdays discount in spite of it being an issue with their website, and being unable to contact a real person until they opened today, so I cancelled the order.

No longer a pre-order, now in stock, hence why the code probably doesn't work. Needs expiring I think, hope plenty got it at the discount price.

The Add to Basket button is greyed out, so I can't pre-order..........or am I being REALLY dense?!?! (most likely!)
Edit: Not being stupid, other games have "pre-order" button but Skyrim doesn't for some reason! Have contacted Smyths for help, maybe too close to release date?
Further Edit: Can't pre-order at the moment because "unfortunately we have reached our current pre order quota :disappointed: we are working on increasing this if possible" - Well that's just great!

VR is the next '3d gaming' I.e - FAD! better yet the next kinect. I highly doubt it'll be worth it down the line. judging every game because it doesn't support VR is ridiculous! do yourself a favour and get over it already.

Having bought the game on 360, PS3 & PC and completing main stories on each, I'm sure the PS4 version will find its way into my collection. I have Oblivion on the 3 formats too.
It's funny though despite being so similar, I've never really got into the Fallout games. Guess I just prefer the Elder Scrolls worlds, to the post apocalyptic worlds of Fallout.
Dryrain to imdave
11 Oct 16#25
I am the same as you regarding Fallout games. After playing Skyrim people said you have got to play Fallout so I tried 3 and could not get into it at all. Then tried again last year, same result. I have watched Fallout 4 though and that seems to be a better put together game and its cheap these days so might give fallout one more try.

Yeah, same I think you'd burn yourself out if they played each series simultaniously, you'd start to see the cracks in these games easier (from experience).

It would need to run at 60 fps for it to run in VR not sure what the frame rate is but its no where near 60fps.
Dryrain
11 Oct 16#24
If it did not have the dialogue and magic then it would not be a very good RPG. The game is about immersion and it does a decent job of doing that this is still one of my most played games on any console.

I am VERY SORRY I said cutscenes - that was a mistake. Blimey - some of you lot are pedantic! I meant scenes where you have to listen to loads of dialogue or converse for ages before you can move on (like the bit at the start where you're travelling along in a wooden cart, etc..). Technically they're not cutscenes but you know what I mean.
And no, there may be no "spell crafting", but there is "magicka", potions, spell tomes, etc..
leelukehope
11 Oct 16#22
Well I like all of those games too but I could say COD is just running around shooting things endlessly, Tomb raider is just walking around collecting things, shooting things, trying not to fall off a cliff. All games can sound boring if you try

you sure you're not thinking of "witcher 3?" Don't remember any cut scenes in Skyrim..?
Dr_Bawbag to horsepills
11 Oct 16#20
There's like 2 cut scenes in Skyrim. One at the end of the Thieves guild and another one towards the end of the game. Both of which last under a minute. They aren't even proper cut scenes. Nothing like the ones you get in Mass Effect etc. There's also no spell crafting in the game. There was in Oblivion, but not in this game. I can only assume you're getting it mixed up with another game or trolling. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt though.
N.B. The code PRE5 is only valid on the following games:
FIFA 17
Watch Dogs 2
Recore
Gears of War 4
Destiny: The Collection
Forza Horizon 3
Forza Horizon 3 Ultimate Edition
Battlefield 1
Titanfall 2
WWE 2K17
Gran Turismo Sport
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
Final Fantasy XV
Mafia III
Dishonored 2
The Last Guardian
Elder Scrolls V Skyrim
I've had it work on others, but they then charge the full price at dispatch.

I've just been reading about the PS4 limited mods being announced, but I've played the game on the last generation enough, the graphics will be nice, but I need more content to shell out for a new game.
I think I'll wait and see what mods will be available on the PS4 before buying. I don't really understand what limited mods means in actual things that will be available.

No it doesn't which is the biggest disappointment in the remaster, i don't really care about the improved graphics i could already do that on the PC with mods withouth this version, this game would be so awesome in VR but unfortunately it does not have it.
