just saw this so thought id share might be useful for some stocking fillers and other presents, last year i bought the Lego mini figures etc and then you get 3 bags for £5.
Our Tesco Toy Testers are on a mission to help you pick perfect presents and save money with our 3 for 2 offer on all toys. Starts tomorrow.
You can order about 3 hours after the servers crash and find out everything is gone, like the rest of us

Stupid really as they sell easily for at least 75 on there. Some sell for £85.

I make usual eBay fee £7 / 10%. Maybe they sneak them through work for postage? So they have PayPal costs, all in £10, so making £10 profit on each?
Like their description on both Friends listings I looked at by them with 6 sets of each for sale;

Someone here thinks they are getting their sales on eBay with £1 fees. They aren't though as selling multiples is excluded. Selling the friends hotel for £69.99 free postage. Fees will be 14. Postage at least 5. That's £19 gone. Cost was £75 so that's £24 gone. So now they get max 47 after paypal fees. Sell 3 get £136. Cost was £150. Oops.

I too was impressed with the Lego. I went into the Sheffield store 3 days in and everything was in-stock, and none of the prices had gone to RRP as Argos do.

To be fair I was impressed with their lego stock levels. A lot didnt sell out. And they were cheaper than most retailers. Argos 3 for 2 sells very fast and rarely has more than 2 of the same set in stock. As for delivery... no chance.

danielleharriman0710
28 Oct 161#133
I bought a few bits from the reduced to clear bin in Tesco earlier; tsum tsum toy shop playset (£11.23), num nom diner family (£6.28), num nom freezie pops family (£7.50) and tsum tsum beauty box (£8.50). I assumed there wouldn't be any 3 for 2 as it was already reduced, some items reduced twice. The receipt shows 3 for 2 on toys and £7.50 discount so paid £25.99 for the lot. Pretty good as the tsum tsum playset is £20 in most places and the num nom sets are normally around £15 each so worked out well.

No not particularly, we'll maybe a little as they do employ quite a lot of people both North/South Ireland and of course across the water. Don't get me wrong I'm glad to get a deal on Lego, as rarely the prices are slashed. I'm just genuinely interested in how much this will hurt them (If any). And if someone is getting sacked for allowing the sale of multiples of the same expensive items, in particular Lego and what I presume is smallish profit margins to begin with.
I am quite stressed though, how did you know?. Bit of a hypocrite also as I did indeed buy multiples of the same expensive items, but I'd have been pleased if they had a system in place to avoid this. eBay will now be flooded with 'Unwanted Lego gift, perfect Christmas present' (10 Available) :stuck_out_tongue:
To answer my own question from earlier, it was basically buy 2 and get one free, although on the same order for example if you buy 3x £100 items and 3x £20 items it's broke down as £300 minus £100, £60 minus £20. £120 discount, which is very generous. I was earlier looking for a catch, thinking the above example would be a £60 discount, but nope

28 Oct 162#131
Well, I went all in, Full greed. I'm almost embarrassed to say how much I spent on Lego. I'm building a new house at the minute and the dream was a Lego room, I've since been told I'm not getting one (Wife)

Just put 3 Paw Patrol items which show as 3 for 2 in my basket and went to check out and still wanted the full price. Spoke to Customer Services and they said they do not have 2 of the items in stock but they were happy for me to pay full price online for the 3 items. They said that The Entertainer also use their website!! Products coming from them. I was like why mislead consumers then!! This is what happens when we rely on these big organisations and they are happy to just mislead consumers.

It definitely does it fairly. E.g. Order nine items, it makes a discount equivalent to the value of the 1st, 4th and 7th items when sorted by price in ascending order.
Thanks op. Spent waaaay too much on Lego. Spent £145 on items that were already discounted. Original prices of about £320 so happy with an over 50% discount - had to really bite my hand to not get the City Square and a couple of other expensive sets.

Could someone please explain a few things to me like I'm five.
If I buy 3 items at x £100 (£300 minus £100) £200 (One free item essentially, £100 off
On the same order I order 3x £50 items (£150 - £50) £50 off.
So, how many marbles will Tom have in his left hand?
Only Joking, so on this particular order costing £450 I get £150 off, or do they discount the cheaper item twice.
What's the catch? I was expecting a limit on the same item, for example the Lego Porsche as it's expensive. Is this deal (Particularly with Lego) not going to hurt Tesco profit wise?
Are orders likely to be cancelled for multiples of the same product. It's a hot, I'm going in, wish me luck

Stupid really as they sell easily for at least 75 on there. Some sell for £85.
Worth the hassle for a tenner? Nah.
Like their description on both Friends listings I looked at by them with 6 sets of each for sale;
Can't believe the size of the lego city set, jeez! Its huge
Guess what? crushed to death what type of thicko packages an item like that? Will wait till they come back in stock to get some replacements. Hopefully no one else gets this but some probably will.
One does not simply hide 9 Lego trains :stuck_out_tongue:
Thanks op. Spent waaaay too much on Lego. Spent £145 on items that were already discounted. Original prices of about £320 so happy with an over 50% discount - had to really bite my hand to not get the City Square and a couple of other expensive sets.
Wish Tesco sold the modular buildings!!
Argos makes you place separate orders but Tesco works it out smartly.
No shame.
E.G. Paw Patrol Paw Patroller Transporter is marked at 3 for 2 offer.
And other Paw Patrol items too..
But when you add it to basket it is not in the offer as it is supplied by the Entertainer....:disappointed::disappointed:
Grouping the orders to get maximum discount - ie 3 of the most expensive sets which are about £75 each then another order of 3 sets that are around £35 each.
Would have gone for the LEGO Clone Turbo Tank but it has been out of stock for a while now.
Don't forget 2.5% Quidco as well
Also, no need to put through separate orders, it discounts intelligently
without the 3 for 2 sign works
Filter toys sold by tesco only.
Link isn't taking me to it either and can't find it currently searching from Tesco site either
3 for 2 on ToysExcludes Games Tables, Bikes & accessories, Football equipment, Fancy Dress, Stationery and Tesco Partners. Offer ends 31/10/16
Wonder if amazon will drop their prices to match as usual the you don't have to buy 3!
