Sorry if this sounds stupid. How do I know what type of lenses I need as I have always had the same pair that the opticians fitted for me?

You can ask the optician for a copy of your prescription, that has all the details you need on

Typical Delivery takes at least 6 Weeks so be warned! But I have to say they were well worth the wait. I ordered the SuperDry Frames on last promotion and when they eventually arrived I was very pleased. Remember if you don't opt for the Specky Packages they will then email you after a day or so asking you If you'd like to opt for the Specky 2 Package at a discounted rate of £9. I went for this and they waived my out of prescription cost kindly.
They only answer their phone on some days too so not all the time. But If you're patient then It's well worth the deal.

If you've worn Ted Baker specs before and know all your prescription details then why not?
I know opticians will say how wrong it is to buy specs online but are they really offering a service that is worthy of the H U G E mark up on their in store glasses?
I get my eyes tested by them. They've done their bit.
And before you say, no I wouldn't buy teeth online...

Super- heat added. Been looking for some prescription glasses for months. Tried some ted baker ones on in a high street opticians but didn't like the price they were charging. Found similar ones on this site. This is much better!

You're absolutely right. The people in the front of the shop are just salespeople. The salespeople send the orders away to be made elsewhere. Buying on the Internet is disintermediation.
Saves a fortune. I can't believe how much high street opticians want to charge for frames and lenses. I do wish that some websites would be clearer about whether frames have sprung hinges or not though.

Hmm, free delivery is not coming up for me. I get 2 options, Royal Mail standard for £4.99 or Royal Mail special delivery for £9.99
Gollywood to iLikeDiscount
26 Oct 16#27
It automatically adds £4.99, so you go through the checkout process until you get to 'Stage 3 / Delivery' option & click on Royal Mail £4.99 option. When you move to Stage 4, it will deduct the £4.99 giving you a total of £30

For info they do it is £50 on top
Polarised lenses block 99.7% of glare from reflected light which makes a huge difference when driving - annoying windscreen reflections and glare from the sun reflecting off other vehicles will be a thing of the past. You'll also notice a huge difference around water and snow so they are perfect for coastal holidays and water activities.

Additional £75 for varifocal lens on these frames, so takes it to £105.
Might be worth getting a quote from your High St opticians to see how they compare

If you want varifocals, Asda opticians is the place to go. 2 'designer' pairs of varifocals for £99 with coatings and tint if you want. 2 pairs of 'premium' varifocals for £159 with coatings and optional tint. You can even buy a pair of varifocals with coatings and optional tint for £40 from the value range. My wife got two pairs of Karl Lagerfeld varifocals for £99 and they are very good.
