s****y tablet. I bought one for myself, the screen quality is good, may be retina display, but not responsive enough. Most importantly half of the apps I use won't work there. NOW TV app doesn't work, similarly most video stream apps doesn't work. Youtube works. Very very slow, despite having a great CPU and 4GB RAM. Few annoying bits like no flash for the camera, so no flash light as well. All in all it's just lying as a brick serving nobody at my home.BTW I bought it for £156 about 4 months back from gearbest. Delivered in 3 weeks from China.

This would be the case for any product with a screen because there is a known acceptable number of dead pixels that can be found.
It's common practice.

does it charge by micro usb? i got an asus t100 for that reason as means one less charger and can also use battery packs in emergency. but wasn't sure about this. the no power on while charging is really worrying as sometimes can charge while on the train ... :disappointed:

I have one of these for quite some time.
what can I say...
- good screen
- battery life could be better
- very, very annoying thing... you can't switch it on when charging
- windows works great, I even have mariadb and eclipse running on it without any problems.
- yes, WiFi is rather poor. I wouldn't say terrible (about half of what is the maximum so 23Mbps instead of 46Mbps) but I don't copy terabytes of data daily so I don't mind
- play store didn't work for me for some reason but installing through the browser works just fine

the current atoms do support SATA SSDs, just this and most devices haven't included the feature (mostly to keep price and size down).
Pipo X6s has a cherry trail atom cpu and has a SATA SSD inside

wouldn't order from gearbest ever again, sent me an old model of a ecig mod when they were advertising the new one, states on their returns if they send you the wrong item they'll refund or replace without returning the incorrect one to China, couldn't get them to honour that and PayPal protection wanted it posted back to even with screenshots of their return policy, £40 to post back a £50 item, vowed never to use them again

Hi, Could you please kindly send me your order number for re-checking ?
Hmm, yes maybe it's because of the apparent poor wi-fi, but if so that's even more annoying. But then that will effect all Internet intensive software. As others have said, that micro usb port is vulnerable. On the huddle, it's a common cause of failure. You really don't want things always connected to it, if you can. Astronomy programs can usefully use gps and not all people use gps in a car.

I can't see why this should be a hot deals 'pic' with so many negative revues here and on the internet
Apparently can't even play youtube videos, bad wi-fi and no gps, what could be more annoying and useless

Can't play YouTube videos? Under Windows or Android? Or do you mean because of the poor wifi it struggles to play them? Poorer wifi tends to be an issue on cheaper Chinese tablets, but a lot of people can still use them adequately. This may be really bad wifi though, I haven't bought one and checked myself as I prefer the 8 inch tablet size I already have. As for no GPS, I am not aware of any Windows or dual boot tablet with built in GPS. Also, what would you use GPS for in a tablet this big? If it were a phone, I can see that, or perhaps a 7 inch or 8 inch tablet, those can be fitted behind a car dashboard, or with a mount in front but 9.7 inch as a satnav? Even so, under Windows you can use virtually any USB GPS dongle that costs less than a fiver. Android is another matter unfortunately.

The only issue you'd have is with the android side then, but hey. It could be just sfsorrow's unit that had a fault. Shame i've already got a nice Windows and Android tablet, can't convince myself into this.

i thought the same thing. I have a largely unused USB wifi dongle so wouldn't cost me anything. but for those without, it is an added cost and inconvenience to portability

I'm not saying it's not a stupid workaround, just inquiring whether it was possible. I do agree, I imagine having a shoddy WiFi card in the tablet would hinder it somewhat.
