All terrible analogies. There is a clear taste difference between 60% water and sugar, and without.

I noticed this too, it was half the price as the one in Sainsburys at the time. Then I noticed it had only about 30% chilli in the ingredients, and the rest is water and sugar. The one in sainsburys Huy Fong Foods (the popular one in the states) has 78% chilli, much better quality product. Cold from me.

That's like writing off a beer because it hasn't got as much malt or hops before even tasting them. Could one use fresh chillies, the other dried? Are there rules? It all sounds a bit "My Dad can beat up your Dad"

This has been in my local now for at least 8 months, highly recommended, very nice mixed with mayo for a quick spicy dip.

This stuff is great to mix with chopped onions, a bit of lemon juice and some fresh coriander leaves to put on your poppadoms

Picked up a gallon (US) of Frank's Red Hot Sauce for £5 from a wholesaler the other month, I have no more space for hot sauce atm.....

This is a nice sauce, I like heat and this gives a reasonable amount without destroying the food taste
