picked one up yesterday from the Stoke on Trent store. they had loads under the shelf labeled as £59.33 and mixed in a few if these when I checked the boxes. went for the hammer one as a no brainer for an extra 3 quid. seems a solid, well made and powerful drill.

For a start 2 batteries and 2 gears...
No point even mentioning the rest

So in practical terms, what can this do that the ikea one can't? Any examples will help, I'm not very aware of these kind of tools.

looks like the 2ah one has gone from home base website although it was on there within the last few weeks as I spotted it while trying to find the impact driver that matches. Argos still have the 2ah kit listed but haven't reduced it yet.
also the 2.0ah one has the metal chuck. which I might add is alot better than the plastic one.

I bought the hammer drill with 2x2ah batteries but beware! many of the Stanley power tool range is now discontinued. homebase confirmed this for the hammer drill I bought, the cordless angle grinder, impact driver and 4ah battery. I'm really pee'd off as I bought the drill because of the other compatible tools. stanley/b&d yet to respond to several emails

editing my comment doesn't seem to work for some reason but I meant £59.33 for that drill the other day
not sure how that impacts the overall drill capabilities.

bought one as a present for my dad a few weeks ago at the same price. Seems like a well built, well balanced, cordless hammer drill. Good deal but it's not new I'm afraid.

and that is £59.33. Comparing them side by side the only difference I found was torque settings:
£59.33 - Torque settings: 49.6Nm
£63.03 - Torque settings: 51.4Nm
not sure how that impacts the overall drill capabilities.
highly recommended. much better than I hoped for. great strength and battery.
