hi just got the play 5 it's ok but very limerted. would not recommend. if it's only music streaming services you use the it's good.
but you can't watch any kind of video audio through it wirelessly which is a must for a speaker cast over 400.
the whole solar system seems a little bit constrained.

Received my Play 1 today, very impressed with it so far. Think I will be buying one in the near future for stereo sound in the living room. Credit to smarthomesounds too, box well packaged and quickly delivered.

I've not owned a single AVR that that have me a signature that I could enjoy in the same way as I do a dedicated hifi amp, subjective but I love analogue.
Sonos wise it's definitely compromised on the DTS front, you need to convert to DD, for me my Xbox One performs that task as my source, your TV also needs to be capable of receiving DD over SPDIF.
I'd say if you were a hardcore movie but it's not the right product. If like me you have kids that won't sit still for more than a half hour and you value convenience and convergence it's a winner.

Across all of that, it's very useful.

Onkyo are not known for being musically adept.
Yamaha on the other hand are.
Thing is sonos soundbar, sub, play1's..... Looking at a few pennies.
Also I think the sounbar can not run DTS etc. How does the surround sound work on your set up?

Was thinking of investing in sonos and getting rid of my Onkyo and AE neo3 speaker surround sound.
Think it would be a big downgrade though although easier to manage so might go for a Yamaha amp with musicCast instead.

I've got the sub, playbar and 2x rear play 1 speakers.
Prior to that I had an Onkyo and Boston Acoustics setup. It works great and the sub kicks very well indeed!
The real benefit is they're much more musically adept too where as my Onkyo was a POS musically and that's allowed me to move my Rega amp and PMC speakers to another reception room, equipped of course with a Sonos Connect.
I'm a fan.

They said it was a £20 off code when the price was £169 and since they have dropped the price to £159 it's only a £10 off code. Still a good price though @ £149. Maybe you got lucky with your timing?

Looks like they've had a number of orders since the post and reduced the discount from £19 to £10. It was definitely £19 at the time of posting. May be worth speaking to them directly. Excellent customer service.
