Down from £199 - I'm sure would make a great Christmas present.
Price changed today in ASDA Living Durham but now sold out. Will be national as clearing out stock.

This tablet is awful due to the low specs. Nexus 9 should be great but it doesn't have enough RAM. Avoid both of them.
Cheaper but smaller; Nexus 7 2013 is still excellent. Lg v500 is 8.3" but rare. Both below £100.
If you want 10" I'd be looking towards Lenovo.

The UK Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 is not a great product.
Budget Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC
TFT screen (not IPS or OLED)
1024x768 resolution (very bad for a 10" tablet)
Only 1GB of DRAM (very very bad for Chrome and Facebook Messenger)

The specs are similar but the Tab A is much better overall - just sent my Tab E back after making a side by side comparison.

I agree, Tab A screen not quite as good as other tablets (albeit more expensive ones) which was an issue when it was selling for £200 but at £120 is definitely worth it.
I also have a Pixel C, great tablet, cannot recommend it enough!

24 Oct 161#40
Excellent, way better than the Tab E winging its way back to John Lewis. Screen is brighter and colours better. More responsive. Upgrades to latest Android version. Twin speakers. Bigger but lighter. Much like an ipad Air, but screen not as sharp on close examination. Well worth £119.

Thanks for this, had them in Asda Living in Broughton (North Wales), was priced as £199 but noticed they'd accidentally stuck the £119 sticker on Tab 4 slot, but looking at barcodes realised it was the 9.7 inch Tab A, picked one up to replace my dad's iPad 1!

I've got a LG Gpad 8.3 from a Tesco HUKD offer about 3 years ago. Would I notice an improvement with this tablet.
I thinks its specs were (Quad Core 1.7GHz Processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB eMMC, WLAN, BT, 2x Camera, Android 4.2.2)

Happy to downgrade on specs for half the price nearly. Well, considering it's for an 8 year old anyway

I admit, certain stores don't seem to get some price reductions but when it's a head office price reduction he majority of stores will get the reduction.
I'll add it to my 'inb4' post on my next deal :stuck_out_tongue:
Edit: Silly me, I already have

Nexus 9 would be my preference. Quick updates. Only drawback would be to watcg for lightbleed.
