The VR experience (323 Model) definitely works with the note 4 (i'm using it right now). There's no hacking required like you had to do with the 322 model (trim plastic to make the device fit). The issues it does have is, the handset wont charge via the USB-C port on the GearVR and the headphone jack is an extremely tight fit (need slim headphones). But it does work!

I have one of these, it's OK but too much effort for my liking, same goes for VR in general. Headsets are uncomfortable after any length of time. It's one of these things you have to try but then you soon move on.

I ordered online and there's a + to enter a promo code. I had to get it delivered to a store as it said delivery wasn't available at the time and only certain stores said ok for collection. I went back on earlier to try and find the status of my order and it suggested it was ok for home delivery now.

A lot of the games and all the video content can controlled will the touch pad on the side of the headset. Some games will use or require a Bluetooth gamepad but it tells you in the store if that's necessary.

I've tried a cheap Google Cardboard headset as well as this. For me, the picture quality is no better on this, than on the Google Cardboard. Main advantages for me are that the phone fits easier in the headset, the controls are easier to use, and its comfier to wear.

My crystal ball isn't showing anything on the horizon... I think the Vive has scared other companies off - came not too far from out of nowhere and is by far the best, however the cost is prohibitively high for many gamers - that's why the PSVR "sold out" on release. I'm intrigued to see what, if anything, HoloLens can do however that's augmented reality rather than virtual. Interesting point in time though

Seriously not setting anything up, I'm very interested in VR & I am looking forward to trying out all 3 (or I suppose we can say 4 with the Samsung) flavours.
Scorpio remains to be seen of course but I'm hoping PS VR (V2?) will exploit PS4 pro's extra umph.
For PC would you say Vive is 'it' or do you know of anything else on the horizon?

Yup, PSVR doesn't have screen-door issues like the other headsets because it's using full RGB pixels rather than the Pentile arrangements used everywhere else. It does have a low resolution but it manifests as being a bit blurry. Screen door is actually really difficult to pick out during play.

Having played around with all 4 headsets, the only real problems I had with PSVR (must say that I sold mine a couple of days into ownership for these reasons) weren't resolution based, nor did I really experience "screen door" unlike with the gear vr. The issues were the cable placement and the fact it often felt like my headset was having an earthquake. Why the f did they put the cable on the side of the headset connected to a kinda heavy box?!?! I couldn't work out a way of alleviating this other than stuffing the cable in my pocket but even then it was dragging my head to one side - something the Vive, Rift or gear vr don't do. Also, they need a better camera system for tracking than a £40 camera... I have a light controlled room I used to test it in and even then it was still sometimes shaking randomly causing me to end up feeling sick and realising that we are spoilt by the Vive. Even the gear vr doesn't have these problems and I must say that I recommend the gear vr for casual use, especially at this price, however im sure the PSVR will become an excellent product once they sort out the teething problems... Maybe a v2 will be on the cards quite soon... One can hope!
My opinion fwiw - don't spend £750 on a PS4 Pro and VR - if you don't own a PS4 then save up a bit more and spend about £1150 and get a Vive setup - the zoostorm pc on the front-page with an rx480 would be more than capable to run the £650 or so Vive! Or don't get one at all for now and wait for things to get cheaper!! I reckon the PSVR is going to plummet in price after Christmas so might be worth waiting for then if you insist!

I agree about this being a step-up from cardboard (& those cheapy headsets....I tried a Bobo Z4, supposedly one of the better ones).
I couldn't say about the Rift on a sub-par machine but your comment about PSVR interests me.
I've read it too has 'screen door' issues & is hardly the highest res (but of course the games for it are going to be way beyond this).
I'm asking because I'm thinking of buying a PS4 Pro & PSVR - although recent comments about the Pro effectively switching off 1/2 its processor to ensure compatibility with the vanilla PS4 have severely dented my enthusiasm.
I know the PS4 Pro wouldn't improve the res of the PS VR but hopefully frame-rates, textures etc.

I have an S6 (non Edge version) too & I think this is pretty impressive.
Yes there is the 'screen door' effect but how much you let it distract you is up to you really.
What I'd like to know is how it compares to the PS4 VR set-up (which also has 'screen door' issues).
Anyway, at £40 I think it's well worth it (which is how much I paid for mine).

Will this work with a Note 4?
It's saying for the Note 4 it needs the Innovator Edition?
This has the sensors built into the headset compared to the other which just uses your phone. This is a huge step-up from cardboard, and not too far from running a Rift on a sub-par machine. PSVR and Vive both rip this apart though!

It's not, no. It's the older white model. As far as I can tell the only major difference is a USB-C connector for the Note 7. Kinda makes me wonder if we'll soon see a glut of cheap black Gear VR as Samsung are bound to have loads of them kicking about following recent events....

The new one is black. Can anyone confirm this deal is on the new model?
Less of an issue now of course with the Note 7's demise.
But it does have an interchangeable tip so can use USB Micro-B and USB-C phones.
So you'll need this one if you plan on upgrading to the S8 in March / April.
It is however more than double the price of this White one.
I got mine yesterday for £90 on a Samsung discount store offered to employees of certain organisations.

got it earlier this year when it came free with the s7 edge if you've never used VR its a great introduction the graphics can be very pixelated at times and the so called screen door is very noticeable if you can get around these its a great addition to a samsung phone. While i wouldn't say you'll use it daily it will be brought out on many occasions to show friends and family. minecraft is amazing and is a must buy !
