I would be weary with an o2 refresh deal given the trouble others had with everything seemingly cancelling okay but then being billed continuously.

Can you just pay for the device in full upfront? Then cancel airtime when phone unlocked?
Wanting to avoid the Credit check
Crossbow to andydee86
7 Oct 161#33
No, for this you'll need to buy it on PAYG for £6 extra.
Then, if it doesn't come unlocked (some do, some don't), you can get an unlock code off eBay for around £12-13. Otherwise, it's £15 via phone credit after at least a year of using it with O2 (all this is for locked PAYG phones only).
newb to andydee86
7 Oct 16#40
Yes, usually you can. there is an option on the page (under the regular tariffs) for 'Pay for your device in full', where you can select the tariffs and pay £369.99 up front. You can then get it unlocked for free, and then call to cancel call plan and keep the phone.
AFAIK PAYG phones are always locked on O2, and you have to wait 12 months for free unlocking or pay if you want it unlocked sooner.

If you get billed for airtime after canceling don't waste your time calling o2, just ring your bank and get them to refund it under the direct debit guarantee. I've done it twice and money comes back almost straight away.

I haven't owned the HTC One 10 but I do own the S7 (as well as owning several other Android phones including the M8 and G4) and I honestly think that the S7 is best Android phone ever made at this screen size. The camera in particular is superb. That said, I don't think you can go much wrong with any of the flagship Android devices these days. The market has really started reaching a point of maturity.
HTC always support the smaller companies otherwise we will be left with two or three manufacturers! I have the HTC 10 and their "sense" on Android is very close to stock and much nicer than Samsung "Touchwiz" although the camera isn't quite as good.

Almost perfect:
"Almost Perfect phones are nearly new, so are a little older but still in great shape.
They may have a bit of wear and tear, but we’ll make sure there are no scratches on the screen, no more than five blemishes and no chips bigger than 2mm. We install the latest operating system and you’ll get a 12 month warranty to put your mind at ease."

Good deal but the market will be flooded with refurbs the s7 edge this side of Christmas. I'd hold on if it were me. The s7 edge were handed out as short term replacements for the exploding note 7 that were returned. So when the notes go back to customers and these are returned Samsung will have 100,000 of these Surplus to demand
Well in theory Anyways

You can unlock a PAYG device when you receive it, but you have to pay £15. To unlock for free, you have to wait 12 months.
Crossbow
9 Oct 16#76
Not entirely true - you need to wait 12 months & only then they will unlock it for £15 - see:
But, nothing to stop anyone from getting it unlocked elsewhere at any time - like getting an unlock code off ebay for example.
