I had one of these and it took two attempts for them to sort it out and that might have impacted the endurance of the drive as well.
Not sure if that last fix was even 100% as I sold the drive on. Just glad I didn't pay much for it to start with.

Ffs...just noticed the comments, mines been cancelled......yeah right 'pricing error',. didn't have them in stock. I have 16gb Corsair ram on my way, it says Nov-Dec delivery.......but not going to believe it so back to square one, on my 2nd pc build, need to search for the parts. Amazon with their **** customer service.

Order cancelled "pricing error"...yeh right! If they can't get stock and have lied that's is very poor customer service. they could easily have offered an alternative at a competitive price, it is after all Amazon error either way.

Replaced the HD on my Samsung a couple of months ago with an 850 Evo 500gb bought for c. £115 about 6 months ago and it goes like "sxit of the shovel" !!
I see that the SSD is now £150 at Amazon.

Yeah, the fix was really just a bandaid. There's an inherent problem with cell leakage on this generation of TLC. In laymans terms the data just degrades relatively quickly (weeks/months) after being written. The firmware fix is that it goes around rewriting everything after a few weeks/months to counter the leakage problem. Which of course incurs more writes on the drive and wears it out even quicker.

If it was cheaper I might go with one and live with the downsides. At this price I would just pay the few quid extra and get something without such a major flaw.

Don't want to use up your time but would it go a little like this:- new drive in SATA dock, Macrium does the copy/clone job, new drive placed in laptop - done? No fiddly things like getting the new drive to boot, maybe OEM license in BIOS?

Seriously stuck for HDD laptop space. Could bung it all onto external HDD tho.

Thanks, was looking at the 750 which i believe this has better warranty (not that it matters cause losing data either way is annoying) but also the cashe size is double.
