Good tv I got this recently .
Yes it will let you play the PS4 pro in 4K.
No it won't give you all the benefits of the PS4 pro, that requires a very expensive tv.
I have this tv and it's very good, stunning quality for uhd movies and the PC , ( fallout 4 in 4K ) , PS4 and Xbox one look great on it

Not get all the benefit of a PS4 Pro???? sorry I'm wetting myself with laughter on that one, you really think those toyd can do proper gaming @4k above 30fps on anything but angry birds grade games? cos that's a big NOPE. Sony nor Xbox will have any consoles inside of 4 years from now that get to that level even on the upgraded editions out next year, simply not possible with such low spec consoles (upscaling from 1080p to 4k doesnt count). So what other features do you refer to? 4k Bluray? that's only 23fps... big whoop.

bought this the other day for bedroom, nice telly, decent price with code (argos @377) i mainly use it for youtube, the smart features are nice and fast, i.e. navigating menus, and picture quality is spot on, however i am not an afficionado, and just needed a telly for the bedroom that was of this size, with smart features ( until i get another nvidia shield tv for gamestream)

How did JL match that? They normally need the competitor to offer 5 year insurance as well

Avoid Richer Sounds, just placed the order and didn't realise there was £14.99 delivery charge for the TV which increases the cost compared to Argos price (also I had an additional £10 voucher off that I could use together with the promo code TV10). I then called same day today to cancel however only to be informed it was too late to cancel and if I did I would lose my delivery charge as it was a 24 hour delivery service and it was too late. I then received an email later this evening to inform me that my delivery will be on Friday!! I have cancelled the delivery directly with the delivery company and have made a formal complaint to London Bridge branch. Not sure if all branches are like this however avoid the London Bridge branch, bunch of crooks!

I've always had exceptional service from Richer Sounds, I guess you've just been unlucky enough to speak to a jobsworth who has no idea about their cancellation policy or basic consumer rights for that matter! You can cancel any time before delivery and you're entitled to a full refund- just refuse the delivery and they can't charge you for postage (even if you paid extra for a premium service).

I was extremely sorry to read your comments on the thread and offer my sincere apologies.
Customer Service is paramount to us so it’s obviously concerning to read of any occasion where we have a dissatisfied customer. Indeed, we certainly should have refunded your delivery charge when you chose to cancel the order.
Please be assured we do take such complaints seriously and I will investigate with the store manager and team to ensure the steps are put in place preventing this reoccurring in the future.
I understand that the order has now been refunded in full and that our Customer Service team have been in touch to resolve the matter.
Of course if I can be of any more help feel free to drop me a PM.

Desktop wise it's good, normally with HD TVs or monitors I would find text harder to read, didn't look good. With 4K windows 10 looks good, fonts don't look horrible , nice n sharp.

Thanks, yeah after looking Theres little that has a 10bit display. None of them are actually up front about it. Samsung at least state on their website if it has a 10 bit display now.
Apparently if there is a badge that states Premium Ultra HD then it has all that is required including a 10bit display. Thanks for the help.

if you are looking at Samsung, the SUHD TVs are the ones with the 10 bit screens. reality is though that for most, if you want a TV in this price range you wouldn't be looking to pay the extra for the next model up, been looking at a 55 inch cheapest is around £630, SUHD range is £1299 and for the last year at least I have been reading that the SUHD would drop to below a grand but still hasn't happened suspect it will be a long way off falling to the UHD models prices.

4K tvs like this just aren't worth investing in at the moment if you plan on future proofing. HDR10 displays are upwards of a grand I would just advise to get a bang for buck HD tv to keep you going until HDR10 becomes the standard in a year or two.

It's been quite a while since televisions had batteries in them, and definitely never any with a 40" panel that I remember, so for that reason I'm not expecting any fires/explosions from this TV without a battery as an ignition source. Unless you were mistaken and thought this was a Galaxy Note 40? However then I suspect you're a time traveler, if so one thing we've learnt is they still have bad jokes in the future.

As someone that has previously owned the Phillips tv you've just mentioned, I would strongly recommend paying the extra £18.10 for the slightly smaller Samsung. The image quality on the Samsung is significantly better.

The problem is many people just do not know they see hdr and automatically assume they are getting something that will greatly enhance the output quality especially now with the PS4,PS4 Pro and XBOX1's all HDR capable. As for this set in general i have it's forebearer and can say that the picture quality is excellent and indeed a decent all round TV.

I doubt anyone expects a 10 bit fully compliant panel for £377. I've seen this TV in action playing 2001 A Space Odyssey 1080p Blu Ray, looked excellent to me and the Tizen based OS was slick and fast, much better than having Android as the OS, which is possibly the worst choice for an OS for a TV unless you want the TV to keep breaking all the time.

Just curious about viewing size/distances. I want a 4k TV for gaming, I will be sitting about 1.5/2m away, this wont be a living room TV so to speak.
Is 40" good enough. I currently use a 32" 1080p. But really want to see what all the fuss is with hdr and 4k upscaling

I sit about the same distance and had the UE6400 for a week now, I think its brill, but I did go from a 2008 32" Samsung. It gets all green ticks on the Xbox One S 4K Test. My mates not long had the UE6000 and he gets the same results.
If you've already got a 1080p TV I would probably hold out for awhile. Proper Ultra HD 4K your looking atleast a grand atm.

was interested in a PS Pro so took a look at the TV's in Currys. I'm unsure if 40" is really worth it for 4K. You compare it to a 50-55" and you can see the quality far easier from further away. If you absolutely want 4K then go ahead, but I was dead set on getting a PS Pro and a 4K tv but now I'm not after realizing realistically you need to be getting a gargantuan monster TV to get the most benefit.
