ordered thanks op. going to load this with Kobi and pick up an Amazon Stick tomorrow for £20 and do the same, keep both for a week's compassion then sell the least favourite on Facebook hopefully for a small profit! this should be the hottest deal of the day!

I'm planning to compare the two. can you explain why the Amazon Stick makes this Roku irrelevant please? I genuinely need advice on which to choose when doing my comparisons

Yes, you can get both Plex and Netflix on a FireStick. You can't get NowTV, but literally nobody subscribes to NowTV so it's not a problem.

Just finished watching Netflix on my Firestick and it works very smoothly, Amazon are happy enough to offer the App on the front page.

but no way to run NowTv on Firestick ...

That's because Netflix runs on Amazon's AWS, so whenever you watch Netflix Amazon are still making money - genius !

How can anyone say the Firestick is better? Is there a way to get Plex/NowTV/Netflix on a firestick? I don't have this stick, after research I decided it would be slow and annoying. I went for the roku box, I love it, we use Plex, Netflix, NowTV and Amazon Prime video on it, they all work perfectly, but the box cost a lot more, obvs. I can't get on with our android box and Kodi, and my Firestick is gathering dust behind the tv.

Best stick IMHO. All major services on one unit.

I found this a very disappointing stick TBH when I bought it last month for £20 from Argos. Other than PLEX/Netflix etc it has nothing the Mk1 Now TV box hasn't got, in fact its got LESS! I was hoping to use it for Flixster to stream my UV collection but the app is missing...

Not all of us want to us to use Kodi for various reasons for me its the bad quality streams.
One plus point of this over the boxes is that it will run off a TV USB port for power which is handy if you've got a wall mounted TV and only 1 plug socket like me!

What can this do that an android box off amazon (for a similar price) can't? Heated based on price history.

all paid for on demand services ....... don't need Kodi for the ripped of stuff !
These are very outdated. As people have been pointing out, they are painfully slow. New models were announced last year and again last month but haven't yet made it to the UK - these are probably going on sale in advance of the release of the new ones which are two generations ahead.

Got one - it's OK. What I like about it is that you can get ALL the on demand services through it unlike fire stick etc.
e.g. we like Now TV and Netflix and this gets both, as well as Iplayer etc.
It is slow and laggy however so not for the impatient, especially on an updated netflix
