Disagree, I bought 2 last year, in 1 box the wheels would not stay on the car no matter what and the second 1 the controller only had intermittent communication with the car it was suppose to be controlling... So I stand by my Junk rating.. each to thier own though...

Great price, I opted for anki overdrive this time last year and it's excellent but this for £35 makes it a very cheap alternative even if it's not as good in the long run

Got one of these when tesco were selling them off for £12.50 a few months ago. The track is huge and it is quite fun although takes a while to get the hang of it.

Got one about a year Ago when on offer in tesco, it is hard but can put an assist on so it turns for you you just regulate the speed.
Really wanted anki drive but after getting this glad I didn't spend £100+ on anki as we hardly touch this, but it is fun. A good alternative to scalextric.

To be fair overdrive is a whole new game to this, it continually impressed me with various game modes and updates etc. A year on its still the most popular game at any get together and that's with all generations

With regards To the wheel comment, worth checking you are not putting front wheels on back or vice versa, it's easy to do, I did a few times when first bought I also thought mine was faulty. Since then never came off.
Also track is massive, I tend not to use all sections as its so big!

foe those that have one, how long do batteries last. read anki only last around 20minutes and then need recharge. anki seem better but for this price?

The cars use AAA batteries and with Duracell type they last hours. Last year we got a set for our yongest and had to buy another because of the fun factor.

Exactly. Why didn't you just return it and get a replacement? If that too had issues your argument would hold more weight.

I did return it and got a refund, canni fault tesco on that front...

as the heat suggests excellent deal just reserved one.
they obviously work.......why wouldn't they, IF you happen to get a set that's faulty in some way then get it swapped it's hardly the scandal of the century. Name me a single product ever created that's been 100% fault free.

I got this for my lad's christmas last year.
It's been played with twice.
First time one of the controllers wouldn't sync with the car. However, their customer support was excellent. I sent them an email and they were right back at me and sent a new controller, no problems at all.
Second time of using it worked perfectly. It's not anything like as good as I thought it would be though. The cars are very hard to control and to keep on the track, I thought the track and sensors would act as a kind of "invisible wall",but it doesn't. You'd be as well drawing a chalk track on the floor and trying to stay in it.
All in though, £35 is a good price for it, as it is a lot of kit for that price. It was way over £100 when it came out and I wouldn't have thought it would be worth that. I paid about £35-40 last year I think as Tesco had it down to about £70 but there was also a code I used and doubled up clubcard vouchers.
It will no doubt get played with again and maybe other kids would get a bit better enjoyment out of it. My two are more interested in playing football outside or xbox inside.

There's a practice mode you can put it in, there cars follow the track in that mode so you don't need to worry about turning the wheel, you then just have to control the speed. Give it another try!

Thanks liked the look of this last year Christmas time £99 so this is worth a go for the price.... As much as I like the slot cars it's a pain to put up and take down if you can't leave it out.

Was lucky enough to get one for 25 at tesco in January. Hopefully going by the comments they should enjoy it for Christmas

Got this for my son last year, and it works well. The track takes a while to setup and, as others have said, is very large. However, since the cars can be used in free-drive mode, you can quickly setup a track on the floor with shoes or similar as markers to drive around (obviously needs a suitable floor, like vinyl or laminate)... they make good indoor RC cars.
