Quorn tastes like cardboard although Nitro has previously suggested it is indeed a complete protein source...this is yet to be proved.
Consumers can decide for themselves after reviewing the available literature..
COLD from me, for the aforementioned reasons.

It's called scientific fact firstofficer. It is a complete protein. Nothing to prove, so try and find some other FUD to use.
And regarding cardboard, the only thing resembling cardboard is the blandness of your comments. Same every time, no variation or hint of imagination. Why not save time and just shorten it to "Cardboard. Cold. I'll get my coat..."?
I can only surmise you must chuckle to yourself, thinking yourself the master troll. "Oh I must be getting on their nerves so much! Stupid veggies.... I'm such a troll.". When in actual fact the point of trolling is to not make it obvious you are trolling, and to fool the receivers into thinking you are actually being serious. If people know you are trolling, you've already lost. There's more to trolling than simply being annoying. At least you get points for effort.

Legitimate reason to be here, as in, in a Quorn deal. You're clearly not interested in the product and the only reason you come into the comments is to post the same tripe.
NitrousUK to firstofficer
5 Oct 16#25
And what is anyone supposed to do with that information? And perhaps more importantly, why do you think anyone cares in the slightest whether you like the taste of Quorn?

I'm perfectly calm, I'm asking a serious question.

As I said, just a suggestion.
This deal is probably not the best example for you. 7 posts and 0 likes. My two likes are for when I ask why you and sam_of_london are in a comments section for a deal you have zero interest in.
Attempts at humour appreciated, but after the lack of response to your first posting I wonder why you posted the exact same thing another 10 times.

You were the one bringing likes into this. I made the point the only likes either one of us have is when I asked why you and sam_of_london were in this thread. Which I think is quite telling.
So you have an interest in telling people that you don't like the taste of something? This is where I would, again, ask what do you expect people to do with that information? No one here knows who you are, and thus, does not care. This is not Facebook.
The question you need to ask yourself, is "How am I making HUKD a better site by my participation?".
Telling people you don't like the taste of something is of no value to anyone. Suggesting a similar alternative, or possibly something cheaper, is of value. I might not like the colour purple, but I'm not going to go into every deal with something purple and say "I don't like purple!".

I would sincerely hope that no one avoids even trying something as subjective as food because someone on the internet didn't like it. I think it would be a very dull world if people thought like that.
I'm surprised your friends needed suggestions to continue eating chicken. I wonder why they couldn't make this decision on their own?
I would think anyone who is past the age of adulthood is capable of deciding what foods are best for them, without needing to be told. If you have some objective information to share, then that might be something that could help people decide. But opinions like taste, would be like me going into deals on foods with coconut in, and telling everyone I don't like coconut. I don't see how that would help anyone.
Value of a deal is relative. If you can find something similar for less, then that has better value. But comparing apples to oranges says nothing about the value of either.

The difference is people would say it is not good quality compared to other cars. If only one type of car existed, you wouldn't say it was rubbish. So you have to compare it to something. If someone put in the comments for the car "Rubbish. Cold." that's not really helping anyone. Such as your comments, "Cardboard. Cold." Doesn't give anyone any useful information. You say it's cold, but compared to what exactly? What other product exists that is superior, and by comparison, makes this deal cold?

In our work's canteen I accidentally picked up a veggie sausage from the self-service in my tired state.
Quite possibly the blandest food I've ever eaten in my life. Don't get the appeal of fake meat. I love meat, but even if I was a veggie there's plenty of other nice foods available to me other than the abomination of a meat-free sausage. It was like eating a sponge. It was so dry it felt like it was absorbing every bit of moisture in my body. Yuck!
Different strokes for different folks though I guess.

There's more than one kind of veggie sausage, and more than one way to cook them. Might I suggest you not condemn an entire catalogue of food based on one example.

So how would you suggest vegetarians should make bangers and mash or toad in the hole without something sausage shaped? Or spaghetti bolognese without something shaped like mince? Simples.

shall we do a thread on Brussel sprouts and ask who likes them????
the point of this post is for people who like or use quorn mince to save them money
so if u don't like it .....................

Don't have those. Have carrot and mash, seasoning pudding and vegetables in a tomato sauce with spaghetti. We carnivores wouldn't dream of making a nut loaf with nut shaped pieces of flesh.

Nope. Unlike you, I have a legitimate reason to be here. I buy Quorn. And I can't help but feel embarrassed on your behalf when you make these transparent and desperately underwhelming attempts at trolling. Not to mention the noise it adds to reading the comments which have value.

You've been told many times about this, I don't know why you carry on unless this is another pathetic attempt at trolling. Allergic reactions does not make Quorn "dangerous", literally every food on the planet can give you allergic reactions, and Quorn is far less so than common foods like nuts, shellfish, soya, etc. If you say Quorn is "dangerous" then you are literally saying "nuts, shellfish, and soya are extremely dangerous". Not to mention the only site that says anything negative about Quorn is a *commercial* entity, who are literally paid by Quorns biggest competitor. Seem a little bit suspect to you?

I also have a legitimate reason and am certainly not a troll. Please see my postings of great pork sausage and lamb shank offers, which were successful and attracted a lot of heat. Not to mention the pork scratchings deal..

The only thing I get my "knickers in a twist" over is people not making sense. Nothing to do with the product.
To illustrate, it would be like someone saying they drove a Vauxhall Corsa once, didn't like it, and then assumed all cars are bad and motorcycles are better.

Thanks for the comment, but I think I'll be the one deciding whether to voice my opinions rather than you. This is an open forum.
As a matter of interest, a significant number of my comments attract several 'likes' indicating that other forum members have appreciated my opinion or (attempted) humour.
Once again, thanks for your voicing your concerns.

I hope this hasn't turned into a competition of who has the most likes. It's all very petty if you ask me..
The taste of Quorn is something I feel strongly about and this means I have an interest in the thread.
On the other hand, you seem to get defensive and aggravated by anyone who says even the slightest negative thing about these meat substitutes - I don't know why. It's almost as it hits on a sensitive nerve..
Just be open to people's opinions and appreciate that they may well differ from your own. Often, there is no right or wrong..

I take your point to a certain degree.
But also the reason for mentioning Quorn tastes like cardboard (of course this is my opinion), is so that consumers who are attracted by the deals posted on here think a deeper to consider what exactly they are buying and whether try would like the taste.
Whilst we are on the issue of Quorn, I have on many occasions suggested people continue eating chicken instead (of course not the vegetarians), as I feel this is a more natural, wholesome and fulfilling product.
Whilst the site is for discussing deals, is also for people to comment on their experiences with the actual products (good v bad) which could influence the overall value of a deal.. Albeit, people's preferences and tastes may differ..

Not quite. Take a car for example. If I saw a good deal on a car (maybe someone posted it on here), and was thinking of getting one following a decent test drive. And then people give their opinions (albeit subjective, after all thats what an opinion is) on its quality (be it the drive, handling, torque, reliability etc.) or simply their experiences, then this would help me a lot in terms of deciding whether it was something I want to take the risk and go for...
What I personally do is to take on board people's comments whether critical or complimentary, and then put it all together and make my own informed choices.
