would there be a way for 2 sets of these to work in fair close proximity without #1 on set 1 turning off #2 on set 2 and so on? ie changing channel or whatever

But do they work out of mind?

Do these remotes have to be in "line of sight" to work. Or could I put them behind a unit that I can't reach the plug that easily?

They'll be radio controlled, probably in same bands as car remote locking. My Lidl set used to be toggled by a neighbours visitors car! Took me a while to realise what was doing it lol.

hmmm I hope not when the product comes then, as the description specifies 13A. Don't fancy plugging my HTPC, AVR, Subs and so on into it if not, and would be returning is wrong goods received

Are you sure that kit takes a total of 13A. Lots a massive amount of power. Even if the switches are only rated 10A, that's still 2.4kW you can switch. Also, presumably you will also be putting everything into standby before you use these to finally disconnect the mains, so it's not like you will be actually switching a full load, which is the most stressful point for the relay.

hmm well order is "complete", and no way to cancel, CPC have acknowledged here that they're mis advertising this as 13A but as of right now, they are knowingly mis-selling advertising these some 8hrs later still showing as 13A.

argh - so I can't safely connect my gadgets to them. Website still states 13A.

PDF and physical packaging states ‘10A’ max - we are amending our data to reflect this. Sorry about that.

As midnight said, Some do yes. Say for example you have a laptop charger which has a black brick between the wall and the charging port, that is converting ac power to dc power and they are the worst offenders. Some of them chargers can use almost as much not charging as they do actually charging.
You may notice some chargers getting warm? Rule of thumb.. If it's warm it's wasting £££

The manual (which is in a link on the product description) states 12v dc, does not say more.. But being 12v dc it, and the fact it is a basic wireless transmitter it won't be very much at all.

depends on the charger. Some yes. If it has any bulky part/part which gets warm when doing nothing, its still drawing power.

I could live with them only being 10 amps, but it's a Shame these things use a23 battery's, and don't have power buttons on the plugs.
These things are great, if you use them to kill plugs every day, they will pay for themselves in a matter of a few months!
Consider that a single tablet charger left on permanently over the course of a year will cost £12.00 to run in standby, just that one item will pay off this set of plugs!
Hang on, if I have a charger for my tablet where the plug is switched on but not tablet is attached to it to charge, it will still drain power?

It says they're 13A not 10A

One thing to bear in mind , it can be useful to be able to turn these on and off when one can't find the remote . Some have buttons on the socket I am not sure that these do , because if you lose the remote temporarily one has to grovel about in some dusty corner , to manually unplug and plug directly in or vice versa

No these don't unfortunately, they're controlled by the remote only

Absolutely, I use similar and have the tree lights plugged in to one, the window lights into another and the external ones plugged into third. No more groping under the tree to turn the lights off if like us you put the tree in front of the socket and it's nice and easy to turn all lights off at bedtime and selected ones on when required. Definitely worth buying just for not knocking the needles off the tree
