I have a Rift at work and PSVR at home, not used Oculus for gaming so hard to judge but for me the quality seems better on the PSVR as well as the fit and comfort however technically the Oculus is meant to be better

still undecided on what headset to buy, I have a ps4 with the camera so all I need is the controllers but also have a gtx 1060. vive is too expensive and I'd prefer a stationary vr headset so it's between the psvr and oculus . Anyone happen to have both?

yeah but in my opinion 3d tv was pretty poor. my samsung had glasses that created flicker just to produce a weak 3d effect.
However pop the kitchen demo on PSVR and you're right there tied to that chair. It's terrifying in a way a 3d tv could never do. I honestly think VR is the beginning of a new and different way to experience games . it works better for certain genres at the moment but done right there's nothing that comes close to the feeling VR creates and i've been gaming since the days of the commodore vic 20.

I got the ones marked as 'Value' (https://uk.webuy.com/product.php?sku=SPS3MOVEVAL003#.WBMnWs29_Aw) - I think I got the last 2 online. Might be worth checking in-store for these so-called "value" ones which are the same thing anyway. Mine were clean and fully functional; one strap missing and no cables or charging dock, but it's just standard USB.

so your saying if you didn't have to connect it to a console in would have more chance of being a success....wouldn't that just make it more expensive if it couldn't untilize something that was already in our homes?

He does but that's a poor example. Kinect added nothing to gaming in the long term.
However, he's also missing the point about PSVR. It's not a peripheral. VR is a new platform. You can't treat it in the same way. Once you've tried it you'll understand the potential.
If you use the logic that "New fangled tech = it must fail" then we'd never have had flat screen TVs, portable phones etc. Kinect just added onto existing experiences and didn't fundamentally change them. 3DTV just added onto existing experiences and didn't fundamentally change them. Motion Control just added onto existing experiences and didn't fundamentally change them. A feeling of immersion though, using elements of all these things, is very different.
It's absolutely certain that PSVR, Vive and Rift won't be the final form of VR. It's got a long way to go. But once you've tried PSVR (I own one and four or five games) you'll understand that it's most definitely the start.

In all honesty I got PSVR day 1. I love it all my friends that have tried it love it, including my non-tech savvy friends and wife who doesn't understand games at all and she loves it even though, she won't even wear headphones.
My recommendation is to wait til after Xmas (if your not after Xmas present) when the price has dropped and bundled in with an extra game, sure Playroom VR is the best fun I've played since Playroom with just the camera. I think VR World's should come free with it as it's only really tech demos.
I really do see a bright future in VR not just PSVR it's really fun and super immersive, though it needs a lot of software support to be considered a success. I really hope it happens.
