55" Full HD for £299 is quite remarkable really.
People are not giving away their Full HD TV's because they've all upgraded to 4K and if they are then they're either very generous, have more money than sense, believe sales hype or are simply idiots.

1080p is finished. Thus must be old stock they are trying to get rid off. Buy 4k now or it is £299 down the drain. In 55 inch TV, the pixels are very big in full HD and picture is not sharp due to pixellation.

Most modern TVs have tinny sound hence the wide availability of sound bars etc. I have the 50" version (paid £200 from Asda) and its brilliant. Doesn't particularly feel premium but how often do you touch your TV once in place. Not quite sure £299 is a great price though...

Not 4k, HDR, quantum dot, OLED, curved, FALD, THX or Dolby Vision. Voted cold.

Philips ones from Argos are a better deal for most although for someone looking for a budget option this is good.

Very good tv. Bought 50 inches model for similiar price about 2 years ago. Good picture if properly configured. Hot.

£200 for 50" was a good price. paying 50% more for a mere 5 extra inches is not worth it

Nonsensical, how many TV channels broadcasts are in 4K?.1080p will be the standard it TV broadcasting for a few years yet, only buy a 4K TV for gaming or UHF bluray otherwise, stick to the1080 TV's and wait for 4K to go mainstream.

I'm pretty sure the 50" are currently sitting at £319 so i don't know how they'd get the 55's down to that price a few weeks prior to this event

Mad me or you?? Buying old rubbish for £299 is very intelligent according to you. Many people are giving away their 1080p TVs for free in the age of 4k and Hdr. Better snap those than waste £299 down the drain

Not sure why its not a hot pick for everyone, for the price and we also got staff disocunt onto of this which as even more worth the money but it has a good picture and sound.. Im not about to pay for 4k and top of the range brand when we have a tight budget.. anyone looking for a big cheap tv - well this looks like a great deal!

Does the fire stick not plug into a standard hdmi port? Or does it require USB as well?

Can you install KODI onto this TV or does it require the HDMI fire-stick? If its only the HDMI fire-stick then given its inserted at the back of the tv will that affect the signal?

...just reread your post - your D-shaped connector is (i think) HDMI not usb?

Does anyone know which stores still have these in the north west? Been trying to get hold of one for a week and all stores seem to be selling out. From the sounds of it, all staff have grabbed the offer as they get double discount - now there are none left for the regular customers! Asda HQ didn't think this one through.
