cheaper than the one listed here so should - in theory - go hotter
This is THE groundbreaking smartwatch. Amazing device, still with so much functionality. May not look as nice as some of the lad screens on modern smartwatcheszbut 5 day battery life and ease of use make this an absolute steal for 50 quid. Even if it's just to display runkeeper or something while exercising, worth getting one

Got mine in Argos a couple of months ago for the same price. Cracking watch with loads of free apps and an excellent battery life

Superb piece of kit. Got the pebble and the pebble time as it dropped in price a while ago also. If you want great battery life this will give you 7 days easily with the e ink mono screen. Works well on iOS and Android.

My dad has this paired with his iPhone 6 and it functionally works the same as mine does on Android.

Is there a reason why it looks so cheap and nasty?

It's several years old, it was THE first generation smart watch. They do a brand new version of it for just under a 100 quid with a heart rate sensor, microphone, better looks and better performance, really unless you have a hard 50 quid budget you should really get the 2016 watch not the 2012 one.

Where did you see the new one for a hundred quid? It's not even out yet.

Douglas Adams would be so pleased that you can pair a digital watch with a digital phone.

Serious question, as v intrigued by this whole smartwatch cult (well it is amongst my work colleagues!), is this worthwhile having if I am happy with getting my phone out of my pocket to read messages / change music track, and my £5 Casio on my wrist to tell the time? Thanks guys

I just like gadgets..............and I find it more useful than I thought I would.
A few things I find useful apart from the obvious functions
My phone can be anywhere in the house or at work and I can see incoming calls.
Read and reply to texts and my phone can be anywhere in the house or at work.
When playing music from phone to Bluetooth speaker I can change tracks pause, etc, again I can be anywhere in the house.
Find my phone, send alert to my phone.
Home automation.
See all phone alerts on watch, phone again can be anywhere at home or at work.

Pebble website, they even had a 10% off voucher last month bringing it down even more. They are shipping now according to the emails I'm getting(ordered a time 2 on KS)

10% off US and I think you'll find they don't deliver to UK. Could be wrong, it's been known to happen.
I've also orderd 2 from KS.
Was letting me order and deliver here and prices were all in GBP, but could be because I was doing it with an existing order to the UK inbound. Had thought about grabbing it as a christmas gift for my mum to replace her temperamental fitbit, but it might not have finalised if I had tried it. Anyways there are plenty of ways around even US only shipping. And honestly pebbles always get price drops pretty fast now, I was pretty annoyed actually when the times went down in price only a couple of months after the kickstarter orders were fulfilled.

I had a U80 smartwatch looks similar software paid about £17 about 2 years ago ebay, worked ok but no app store so your stuck with what's built in and maybe 3 watch faces useless as a smart watch really. I upgraded to Sony smartwatch 3 with android wear much better. To answer your question I would rather have the pebble with app store personally but this is getting a little dated but still a good price.

I had a similar point of view about smart watches. Until I got my pebble. Getting notifications and details of calls when phone isn't immediately at hand (I'm not glued to my phone 24/7) is very useful. Especially if the phone is ringing in another room and I can see it's a sales call so I don't dash off to answer it

I want something to track how many miles I walk each day. Does this watch do that?

Description says you can answer phone calls with it. There is no microphone or speaker so you cannot talk and listen through it. All it does is accept the call to your phone, not a lot of good if your phone is in your pocket and difficult to get to. Mine's going back today for a refund.
