T&Cs

Create up to 100 listing(s) on eBay.co.uk in an eligible category, starting during the promotion period, using the auction-style or fixed price format, and pay a maximum of £1 in final value fees per listing if they sell.

Before your 100 listings start, you need to have actively opted in to the promotion via the RSVP link shown in the marketing communication.

You won’t pay an insertion fee for each of the 100 listings. Listing upgrade fees will still apply and will be charged according to the eBay fees policy.

The number of listings eligible under this promotion may be less where seller restrictions apply.

Check your eBay inbox. If not click on to the this link - http://www.rsvp.ebay.co.uk/rsvp/signup/3286/C1fS-dWASW4

Ebay sort of agreed ie they deleted his comment but still left the negative to stand, sellers really are at a disadvantage

Thanks, heated, I was eligible under the link but as usual absolutely zero communication from eBay so could well have passed me by. Told them numerous time I don't get the emails but they insist I'm signed up to receive everything....

Much as I like these selling offers and long may they continue, I think it's about time they did another 10%/20% off buying promotion, seems to have been ages since there was one last, wish they would do more of them as they benefit sellers just as much as buyers with all the increased traffic....

I think the main issue is: many/most Ebay seller a/cs are permitted to use these deals, but don't realise it.

Because the communication is poor.

Ebay no doubt knows this but doesn't care because there's a limit on numbers to each deal.

Just appeared in my promotions section, although I never sell anything over a tenner, but I just end and relist (using sell similar) to give some unsold ones a new boost for anyone searching by newly listed......... always get a sale or two that way, likewise when something is a couple of days away from ending it also attracts buyers.
kamenitzabrit
30 Oct 16 1 #82
The difference might not be significant per sale, but it all adds up - something selling at £6 freepost means 60p to ebay, but with 75% off it's only 15p so a saving of 45p - I sell over 100 items every month so am quite happy to save every penny I can.

kamenitzabrit
30 Oct 16 #97
There would normally have to be a very good reason for ebay to stop sending you promos - it's possible that the category you usually sell in is not being 'promoted' by ebay at the moment, but the main reason would be a problem with your account - you have not dealt with buyer's return problems, too much negative feedback, unresolved cases, and so on...... those sorts of things all add up and an automated system will have decided you will firstly have your listings hidden (many debates on that one) and also not be offered promos until you resolve whatever the problem is.
Anyone at all who thinks they have a problem can join in on the ebay forums/ discussion boards and ask questions - older and wiser heads will often help you get to the bottom of it.
You will sometimes get sarcasm from those who have seen it all before, and get annoyed with people trying to say their account is all ok and perfect, when there is actually a problem which has been ignored and they are now being punished for........ but some helpful people will generally take the time to guide you, so it's always worth asking.

I have a listing in the electronics category that's been up for a couple weeks. Would this qualify if I sell it today or tomorrow?
kamenitzabrit
30 Oct 16 #99
You take your life in your hands selling higher value stuff sometimes... ask on the ebay forums for advice, as it sounds like the sort of thing which you can post to a buyer, and the buyer says it has not arrived, or is faulty in some way - ebay or paypal will take the money out of your account and refund the buyer, when very often the buyer does not even return the item you sent them !
There are people selling that sort of thing safely, but if you have not done it before I really would get advice.
ashman33
30 Oct 16 #100
I thought that's how it worked. I also have a non-paying bidder. The last time this happened to me ebay took the selling fee, and then I ended up with a credit on the account once the non-pay case concluded.

IMO there seems to be a lot of scammers (both buyers and sellers) in the ebay marketplace. I've only sold around 20 items, and had 2 non-payers, a good few cancel purchases on buy it now - said a voucher expired, and a few messages wanting to bid outside of the ebay auction. Yes I've had some decent buyers.
kamenitzabrit
30 Oct 16 #101

What am I doing wrong? :disappointed:
joshp
30 Oct 16 #107
Thanks for taking the time to reply.

That's interesting, whilst I certainly have had no issues on my eBay. All my 1500 feedback is 100% positive, no returns ect... the only thing I can note which does tie in with when I stopped receiving these promotions is that recently my father asked me to help list him some items on his account. When I started using his account on my PC (we live at different addresses) he now seems to be getting the offers and not me. eBay know this because the his account got temporarily locked and I had to ring a number to do a security check - I think because be have different IP address their systems flagged this. I also had to enter my eBay ID at the time because eBay asked what ID's were associated with my address while on his account.

I will perhaps resort to the eBay forums as I would like to find a solution for this. Do you have any ideas? Perhaps eBay think I am now selling my items on his account hence why they stopped giving me promotions which sucks as I don't want to use his account but I will do if they only offer him promotions.

30 Oct 16 #118
What happens if say you have items for sale before this promotion came into affect does the offer automatically cover what you listed b4 or have you got to go through the link (offer) and relist everything once more in order to get this offer and end your original listings early?(If this makes any sense)?

I send my items either signed for (RM) or Collect+ tracked

Just occasionally the wife hands me a lower value item to sell and if the buyer has a great track record, eg 500+ items & great feedback as a buyer, I might send it normal post, not a big deal if you had to write off the cost if buyer claimed they didn't receive it

Login to your eBay account off a desktop or laptop guys

I had the invitation only message when I clicked the linked from the OP from my mobile

But when I logged in from my PC, scroll right to the bottom of the Selling section on my eBay and there's a section called promotions

I had the free fvf listing offer there and simply had to accept it.

Worth a try as the eBay mobile app and mobile site are useless

I urge people having difficulty finding this to check their selling page at the bottom under Promotional Offers but only on the desktop page (does not appear on mobile or app) the 75% off final value fee was on mine so have cancelled and resisted all my listings today as this will only apply after you accept the offer.
dougrobbins78
31 Oct 16 1 #146
So as long as the Listing is created and activated before 31st 23:59 it will apply?

For example the auctions start date are all next week. Will that still qualify under this promotion?

Thanks
deb8z
31 Oct 16 #147
The promotion is valid for the first 100 listings only which go live during the promotion period (or were previously scheduled to go live during the promotion period) on eBay.co.uk using the auction-style, auction-style with Buy it now option, or fixed price formats, in an eligible category. Listings using the auction-style with Buy it now option will be charged only the listing upgrade fee.

An eligible item previously scheduled to go live during the promotional period will qualify for the promotion only if you have opted in to the promotion before the listing starts.

Is there any way to check whether you opted in for previous promotions as I'm sure I opted in on OH's account for the £1.00 promo and something did sell but I've been charged the full FVF ?

If you scroll down to the bottom of your selling page it should show promotional offers and there is the option to view 'Active' and 'History' so it should appear in the history one.

I thought you could view it somewhere but for the life of me I couldn't see it

Found it now and I did accept the offer and yet I was charged more than a pound so I will have to contact them

thought id update this. got my email with fees at £18.50 which meant the promo didn't work. after talking to ebay seems I received the promo on the 15th and accepted it on the 15th but it didn't start until the 16th. which seemed daft. anyway ebay waved the fees and put it to £1. so give them a ring if anyone has had same issue

Are you on the correct thread,16th of what, this started on October 30th so I'm confused?
