I'm trailing through all the Roidmi posts to see.....has anyone found a way to change the frequency via your phone? There's no app on the playstore and I'm stuck with it on the stock frequency which picks up all kinds of other channels when I drive

Sorry for the slow reply but just in case you're still interested; yes, once the frequency and LED colour is set, the app is no longer required, the phone simply connects with Bluetooth.

Did anyone buy one if these? Any issues?
I can't plug anything into the USB's without it causing the device to die. It's not always instant, sometimes it take a minute or two before it shuts off.

because not all cars have aux . seems cheap for a fast charger!

My guess is that they want wireless from the phone to the receiver, but wired from the receiver to the stereo. Maybe the sound quality is better as it's not being transmitted over FM.

Why not just connect your device directly to the AUX port?

I'm not even sure you need to install the app ever. The charger has a default frequency which you can use if you don't install the app.
However, if this FM frequency is already used up in your area, you install the app, change the frequency and then you can either keep the app (if you ever need to change the frequency again) or uninstall the app.
Hope that helps.

this would be kinda cool if it could connect via AUX not FM

Surely you could just connect your device via aux? Unless you have the new iphone?

Yeah, I'd prefer that too

If anyone else is wondering, I saw this question on GearBest:

Once the device is setup up for the first time, can you uninstall the app?

Do you have to sign in to the app each time you want to to use this?

You don't even have to take your phone out of your pocket. The connection happens automatically if you have bluetooth switched on.

You don't need to open the app.

I have two of these and they are great but the only significant limitation is that they work to stream media sound only and unfortunately would not allow phone calls to be routed through the car's audio system. Good for music but useless for hands free calling.

Cheers OP, I think that it's worth a punt for this price. Should mean that I can stream some spotify playlists to my car stereo and stop having to burn CDs for it instead

I have one of these, works well but doesn't work in all lighter sockets, check the website and it will show compatible sockets.
Doesn't have any issue reconnecting to the phone when switched on and sounds OK, not as good as a hardwired connection but better than any FM transmitter I've used in the past.

Is there anything that Xiaomi doesn't make?
It's like they are on a mission to make a gadget for everything... To be fair, the name is generally a badge of quality in terms of buying from China

Neanderthal Man here - what exactly does this do? Charge a phone - yes and then ???
I have one of these and it doesn't fit properly into either vehicles cig socket. But with a bit of messing around it works. I'm happy with mine

Had one of these since they first came out. Great bit of kit. No need for the app, that's only if you want to change the frequency.

Worth a punt, but haven't been able to tune mine to any usable channel despite compatibility with my lighter socket. Shame as it would have been ideal.

I've got the newer one and it's great,. But as said check compatability first!

Be aware there are an awful lot of cars that this isn't compatible with due to the type of socket they have.
