Is it worth waiting for black Friday you think? I've held off buying stuff the last 3 BF's hoping I'd get a few things I was after but nothing I want is ever included.

Can't find any new stock for the TV version, is it being discontinued or replaced?
Out of stock on Nvidia website for around a month or two. I suspect a new version is due (maybe cheaper)

Damn didn't even notice! Hopefully they are making a new one then? So much potential in it but probably over priced! That tablet looks great too!

Possibly new shield tv on the cards. Tablet is meant to be end of line now with the Nintendo Switch being the replacement. TV might drop in price on Black Friday as it did last year and along with Prime day, managed to pick mine up for £75 after jumping through some hoops on prime day with other discounts (credit from gift vouchers,Audible Trial and something else which I can't remember lol) http://www.aftvnews.com/new-nvidia-shield-tv-passes-through-the-fcc/

Here's hoping, if not I might get one of the those new xiaomi 4k box, the US / international version goes for 90 quid delivered. But I rather get the Nvidia for support, for just a bit more.

If they had released nougat for this I'd jump on it but without the split screen functionality I'll hold off.

It will come soon. I have a HTC and it's not yet released for that, just being optimised by the relevant parties!

It's a risk you take. I have been a bit disappointing with the last couple of BF's, not quite been as impressive as promised. However, you just never know!

Once Nintendo Switch comes out early in 2017 this is going to plummet faster than the prices of Halloween Pumpkins on 1st November. There really isn't enough Android Content to warrant the cost of a Shield and before you moan at me, please do some research. My Google Nexus 7, 2nd gen tablet still does all this does at half the cost.

I doubt the price will plummet as firstly they have only been doing very limited production runs of the Shield hence why they have been very hard to get your hands on one over past 3-4 months, also in that time the price increased from the start of £149.99 RRP to where it is now. Secondly price point I'd say the Switch will be a lot higher still leaving a marketplace for the Shield. Just look at the Nexus 6P phone as an example I personally thought also when the Pixel range came out they would plummet in price but because of the price point the Pixel ranges came in at the 6P still has it's marketplace at it's price point.

The Nexus tablets have tempted me but the lack of micro SD support is the deal breaker for me. Hoping Black Friday offers some decent tablet deals.

Not quite sure where your finding a brand new Nexus 7 2013 (2nd Gen) for £75, still at £145 on Amazon, although I'm very happy to be proved wrong as for £75 I would snap one up. Although they are very nice tablets, the extra £8(?) you pay for the Shield is definitely worth it currently for the improvements in speed and power you get.

Also, there's the simple factor of the switch not running android. It won't have the app base to make it a replacement for a tablet. Also thje screen one the switch is 720p isnt it ? The switch isn't even marketing itself as a tablet, it's a portable game console.

Is the battery actually as bad a people suggest? I dont really plan on gaming with it just watching videos and web browsing.

I have one, the battery does run down fairly quickly, but it i usable. It is a quality tablet. I also have a Nexus 2013. Both are good quality tablets. I prefer the Shield.
