Big problem I have with these soundbars is that I have one of the new Panasonic's which has either a 3.5 audio jack outlet or optical but if you select either of these it cuts out the tv's equaliser/sound output controls and outputs a straight, "flat" sound which I am not happy with at all. Why can't they put an equaliser into these soundbars? At the moment I am trying to find a mini hifi system with an audio in and a decent equaliser but I'm beginning to think it's an impossible task! I'm starting to notice my hearing isn't what it used to be so this is quite important to me so any suggestions gratefully appreciated!

I got mine today, connected via optical to a PC under the tv and it sounds excellent. There is no equalisers or bass/treble options, just the SRS which has 2 stages. That said, it sounds very punchy with a good dose of bass and highs...goes loud too.
Maybe give this a punt for 29 quid, i think it might do the trick for you.

I found this quite hard to integrate with my Sony Bravia. it seems there's no way to control it from the TV itself unless you buy one of their branded ones.

Sound bar. The thing your girlfriend/ wife makes you get when she won't let you have a 5.1 system cos of cables etc.
Should be good. I bought the previous model (SC-HTE180), though I recommend playing with the sound settings. The factory defaults didn't produce the best results. I found cinema produced the best soundfield then adjusted the bass / dialog levels.

sounds terrible. I got one, then immediately replaced it and sold the maxell on eBay. our TV sounded better without this.
