Well no, they don't, because they don't make "Coke" they can only make a "cola". :smile:
I don't think a product is the best because they have a monopoly on them - hence why I did say you can't call LG "the best" OLED TV's. Samsung and Panasonic have plans to release OLED TV's next year apparently.

Well no, other companies make other versions of coke, some people prefer cheaper versions.

You can't seriously think a product is the best BECAUSE they have a monopoly on them, it makes no logical sense. Other companies make LED TV's, some even costing more than OLED based TV's. Panasonic make an OLED TV (with an LG panel).

Samsung DID make an OLED TV, but I'd guess they no longer produce them due to the price they wanted for it. Plus they use blue LED's which have lifespan concerns.

Exactly the same but with different features. Isn't that most tv's? I have this TV and it has none of these vertical lines. Where did you hear it was the frame and stand?

Its the exact same TV with a couple of different features and the frame and stand is the same and its the TV's frame thats causing those weird lines its some kind of reflection.

I have the 770 and its going back its the worst TV ive ever owned the picture is awful and im sure this will be the same, its alright 1080p but SD viewing its very bad that would be why Currys wouldn't demo it, it also has some strange lines round the edge of the picture and because this is the same TV basically you will probably get them. Avoid it.

I'm actually a big Sony TV fan (among other, but NOT all Sony stuff). Yes there's the bizarre, unwarranted 30 second wait after you turn the TV on before you can change channel or see the EPG, yes the menus are a bit clunky, but when you get to those inky blacks and I'm talking about a 2013 model....<3

Umm.....probably because to be called "the best" you tend to need another alternative manufacturer of OLED TV's to compare it to. But that's just that pesky logic for you....
That's like saying "Coca-Cola is definitely the best Coke because it's Coke". :smirk:

Epic TV, wish I had noticed this before the price went up, would have been a great replacement for my bedroom TV. Would have made 1,000 degrees if it had been a Sony :disappointed:

Perhaps more because LG make underwhelming TV's. Their OLED are nice looking of course but that's merely because they have the monopoly on that technology right now.

Not that I can see or does the screen need to be black and the lights turned off? I don't know why this hasn't got any hotter as it was a best buy in the September issue of which at £1079. It baffles me.

I have set it up and I think it looks great without even tweaking it yet. I am not a particularly techy person but it's streets ahead of the Panasonic it has replaced. It streams straight from my phone which is handy and the magic remote is great to use.

thats fair play. i was blown away by the demo video. when i asked the shop assistant in currys if i could view the SD tv, they told me the tv's weren't hooked up to freeview.

I too was very interested in this set and I too have a Panasonic Plasma. I went to view it in Currys (I think it is exclusive to them in the UK). I had read all of the reviews, and I must admit the HD and UHD pictures blew me away. However, I had a play, because the set was obviously set to an HD/UHD source by default to exploit the picture quality, and the non HD pictures on freeview looked terrible - to the point of being unwatchable. There was artifact spread (which looks like ghosting that could occur in the old analogue days) on every non HD channel. In fact I got home and looked at the great pictures on the Plasma and decided that I would hold off buying until the non HD picture quality looks something approaching the Panny.

So my advice would be to ALWAYS see the non HD and non UHD pictures BEFORE you part with your money.

thats what puts me off the purchase a little bit. i stood in currys today and the samsung KS7000 was next to it and the LG looked better which was a big suprise to me considering the price difference is £400... decisions....

also factor in i currently own a 37" panasonic plasma from 2006...therefore the step up in quality would be such that the odd thing might not bother me?

all the reviews say that its a great tv but if you trawl through av forum there is a massive thread of mixed owner reviews which has put.le off buying it. that said, only those that have had a bad experience complain and it does come with a 5yr curry guarantee which is reassuring. biggest issue reported is vertical bands across the screen and light bleed but how bad this is in reality is anyones guess??

Vertical bands are the worst. Once you see them you'll never unsee them. Persuading Currys for a return on vertical bands would be a challenge.

Quidco offer 5 percent for tv's over £500. This is also in which magazine as a best buy when it was £1049 although it said it had no 3d.
