Bit boring this year

Completely agree. Is poor, unoriginal and uninspiring. Just a rehash of stuff from previous years, and not even the good stuff. Have bought my kid the Lego City calendar every year for a few years now, this is the worst have ever seen.
Thanks for the reminder OP. These were a nightmare to track down last year :smirk:

I've been buying these every year for a while, but they really are taking the mickey now - it's just variations on the same set year after year. I wouldn't mind for two or three years even, but it's getting lazy.
Why not have a "traditional/dickens era" Xmas advent calendar set, or Xmas from around the world, etc... ? Shouldn't be too difficult seeing as they do a lot of this in other sets. I'm tired of seeing the same sled, fireman, dog, etc.. !!

You never know when an old Advent calendar might come in handy. Sure, it's not Advent 2016 right now, but who knows what tomorrow will bring?

This years one looks really poor compared to previous years. I don't know what went wrong! The Friends one this year is also pretty uninspiring.

Yes, I just turned my attention to the Friends calendar, and that is even worse than usual too. My kid is not into Star Wars in the slightest and I fear I may have to reluctantly buy one of the crappy City or Friends ones this year, as its nice to give them the excitement of a lego calendar.

Whatever happened to an advent calendar that only contained a picture? My son always has an old school advent calendar and loves it!
