So, am I to assume from all of the defence that HedgyHoggy's comment actually was either good, useful, or funny?
Pretty sure the new guy made a good call personally.
From their own store!! £2.00 (and £3.50 from someone else)

You might want to mention the Click and Collect/Delivery charge before the post police have a field day and vote you down. Nice deal.

Lease?? I bought one second hand from a jumble sale for £1 and it's still going strong.

British engineering? BMW, designed by an American, Frank Stephenson...

Well, the designer of the original Austin Mini was Greek.*
*Yes I know he was a British citizen but he was born in Greek territory and his ancestry was Greek

Too true - lost count the number of times I've seen these BMW's out and about driving with a colleague and said "typical BMW driver" and they go "what? It's a Mini" - so I have to explain the sad story that BMW suddenly decided it was trading as an asset stripper as as well as a car maker back when they sold Rover back to those idiots for £1.

Would it fit my whole family, especially my big aunty Edna?

Probably not but my imaginary friend finds it most comfortable.
This isn't a classic British Engineering icon. That is a bit much really, it has the same name as it, that's where the similarities end. Completely different car. The new one is bigger, safer, more expensive, better in almost every way, and also German! But it isn't a MINI. They stopped making that one in the very early 00s or late 90s.

This BMW mini was in fact engineered by British Engineers in the UK. By Land Rover engineers no less. They packed up the engineering just after it was complete and moved to Germany.
