Thanks for your insight. I'm sure the stock value will plummet after this little pearl of wisdom.

Yes because it's apple. While there are plenty of better phones for the price, you will not get an iPhone 5s for this price often.

So you seriously think £130 for a three year old "almost perfect" phone is a deal?

A friend & his mrs has each had one since they were released & they are still snappy in operation & work great.
I've only owned Android phones (most expensive was £150) & have had to change 3 times in the same time for various issues. So, even though I'm an Android user & fan, this is a very good deal (as much I'd hate to admit!).

Depends.
If it was like the one I bought from o2 a couple of months ago, which was absolutely as new, and you are not interested in having any of the improvements that have appeared on later models, then yes.
If you need more bells and whistles, there are plenty of other deals around.
Without wanting to get into the time machine discussion, this is a good deal at the moment however odd o2 think it's worth more now for these than it was a few months ago before the release of the new iPhone when the price was only £96 would have expected them to get cheaper.
Also note the new definition to when most bought them back then, these are not necessarily the same condition now as the were simply returns now they are used from the small print I read a few weeks ago :disappointed:

I think O2 is not doing them as cheap now, far too many cancelled monthly plan.

I reckon this is a good deal, I need a phone for my son starting high school. By the way, you can also buy this PAYG for £129. I selected a £10 sim and was not charged extra?

Same price yes but i understand you cannot unlock it for the first 12 months through O2 PAYG.
Refresh deals allow immediate unlock.

Loving me new 6s, Apple Pay is fantastic, 2 clicks and hold, much faster than my 5s doing things on it, paid £153.99 6 months ago.

my son was desperate for an iphone, he paid this much five months ago for a ratty old 5s off amazon marketplace, so this is actually a good price especially if it comes with an original Apple Lightning cable - his came with a fake that never worked (popped up warning about unauthorised or something) and the replacement they sent broke in a few weeks.

Always tempted by these refresh deals but bit scared it doesn't work in the way it should with contract cancelling and unlocking going wrong. I know thousands on here have done it by I'm just a cautious Santa

Seems good deal so long as:
A) The battery isn't as old/used as the age of the phone.
B) Anyone buying is aware that this has now entered being-made-obselete-by-the-apps-themselves spin-cycle, as is customary with Apple devices (and will be the turn of the 6 this time next year.)
If you're fine with that then seems good to me.

there are no very small, decently specced Androids, sadly. Was hoping the SE would lead to a change in Android trends but it doesn't seem to have happened.

Android and iOS user here - haven't used iTunes for years! You don't need to any more, which leads me to think your knowledge of iOS is circa 2009.

Yes you can go to phone shop or eBay as I got mine done for13 quid on bay no problem.why wait a year with 02 and pay 15 quid afterwards

18 Oct 16#39
Would that be a permanent unlock or would it lock to the next sim?
jynx88
18 Oct 16#40
As for all the comments on here please think yes it is an iPhone 5s,it is still supported and will be for prob 2 years yet.these are customer returns so will not have many charges.still have 12 months warranty, still have apple warranty and it is the 4s which just came unsupported recently.and iPhone 5s updated to 10.0.2 a few weeks back.yes it is still 130 quid in most places but do you know the history of them? Even smartfone store is selling these for the same money plus but what is the likely hood of having apple warranty? So yes this is a good deal and worth 130 pound
jynx88
18 Oct 161#41
Yes complete unlock from apple server and not jaillock. It can take up to 10 working days thou and once done sync with your iTunes account and that will unlock it permentally and done the legal way so you can use any sim you want in it then.

Has anyone received their phone yet? Mine came today is a generic box, with a charge cable, no charger or earphones. Phone is definitely used too. It also states "B" condition on the invoice.
jynx88 to gregok
21 Oct 16#45
yea they all come in a white box with blue writing on it and states b condition.the chaarger cable they give you is a really cheap fake and charger you have to go in store and buy it seperately for half price.

True, though I was talking of the unofficial version of being made obselete, namely hardware limitations (memory, actual memory), multi-app integration (games which require FB login etc), amongst other little tricks all part of the design.
