My ASDA has literally had a hole in its roof for the last 6 months, they have had barriers around the gaming shelves where the leak is for 6 months, and no fix. makes me wonder what their stock rooms are like where customers cannot see. Toxic sounds about right.

Rings for ages, then you get the option to go to the Switchboard. You do that and you tell them what you want and they put you back through. It rings for ages and then just cuts off. I called another store and the exact same thing happened! Just tried to find a way to email them. But, the only suggestion they have is 'call us'! Asda is useless when it comes to customer service! Hot from me for the find. But, as for Asda, it just made me remember why I shop at Tesco & Salisburys!!

OP, thank you for posting. Asda have the worst customer services I have ever come across. I tried their main customer services tel no to ask them to check instore stock locally and the lady couldn.t understand what I was asking and even asked if I was near our lcoal shopping centre as the Apple store sell it and gave me their address! Her English was appaling and she couldn't spell even to check the product to start with....in the end gave up. Imagine if there were any issues trying to deal with a customer services Dept like that!

I've phoned a number of stores and they we're all quite helpful even if they didn't give me the answer I wanted. Finally found one in Tamworth which they reserved for me for an hour.

Your better off getting a 32 gb for a bit extra.

I got one at Bradford store on Rooley lane, they only have whites left. Called Foster square but they were out of stock.

Its a good price and the ipad mini 2 still works very well with iOS10 even though its nearly 4 years old now.
However, youll find 16GB very limiting unless youre only going to web browse or facebook on it. About 4GB of space is taken up by the OS already when you turn it on.

​True, I have 16gb and it is great for what I need it to do; a few movies, apps and a few favourite music tracks and your 16gb has gone. If you lots of games and videos definitely get the 32gb.

im two mind about this. im using the mini 2 still (without iOS update), but now all the adverts on websites are too RAM heavy and anything more than 2 tabs in safari will almost guarantee crashing it. yes it is cheap but it's just isnt as slick as it was.

I'm in two minds in getting one, last time I had a latest iOS downloaded on my iPad mini 1 it left it crashed and useless.apple did not help me with it.

My iPad Mini 1 (same internals as ipad 2) runs as good as it did when new, its been updated regularly and is used daily to the point of needing fully recharged every night. I would try a factory reset if your iPad is running slow.

I bought an ipod in Asda yesterday was lovely and smooth out of the box on IOS 8 did the update to 10 and it became extremely sluggish, just marched it down CEX and made an £11 profit good riddance.

ipad mini 1 doesn't have the same internals as the mini 2, your getting confused with the mini 2 and 3

Worth remembering that chances are apple's next IOS will drop support for this ipad.
Oh & the latest version make the device run really slow.
So think twice before upgrading the IOS as you will not be able to roll it back.

Tottenham Hale (Asda Living) were out of stock. Not being an Asda shopper I checked 3 other stores which didn't even sell them :/ Gave up after that.

Honestly not worth the money.

I bought one back in 2013 to replace the rather slow original mini which had the same specs as the original ipad 2. Back then it was brilliant as it was a big spec upgrade with internals that were very similar to the best full size ipad (ipad air 1) inside a smaller case and with a cheaper price.

Nowadays it runs rather sluggishly on many media heavy sites in what I would assume is down to the lack of RAM (just 1gb) coupled with a aging processor. I've been looking into replacing it as I feel it's run it's course now.

The iPhone 6 I'm posting on now is quicker to the point it isn't as frustrating. Whereas the ipad pro 9.7 also in the house is so much quicker it honestly makes the old ipad mini 2 seem like a bit of a toy.

A great product for it's time but age has finally caught up with it. Avoid.

IMO you are talking nonsense. My wife and 2 of my kids have the original iPad Mini and they ALL work fine. The Mini 2 will be absolutely fine and is great value at this price.

The original ipad mini must be shockingly slow! Maybe you haven't used anything quick recently and don't realise how much things have moved on?

Look I'm not saying it's bad, I still use mine every day but it's clear to me that it's old hat now. It's just about OK in the present but it's only getting older so I wouldn't consider it a good buy if you're looking to use it for years ahead.

I usually never defend apple, the iPhone 6 and iPad Pro are how much? Your not comparing like with like, what 8 inch tablets of any make come anywhere this at this price point.

I have a normal ipad 2 (I'm anti-apple but I got it free from work years ago, so whatever) and that runs just fine, i run 4 leagues of football manager on it without a blip so I imagine he must have some serious bloat on there.

ipad mini 1 and 2 have the same hardware as full size ipad, which attracted alot of customers. but at the same time apple realise alot of people are going for the mini because it is cheaper and dont mind the smaller size. so when they move onto the mini 3, it has crippled hardware compared to the full size ipad.

having said that, all these are history, as i mentioned before now the websites are so adverts heavy, anything more than 2 tabs in browser will crash and restart the app. This annoys me fair abit, to the point that now im a very light user and only need to charge mine (mini 2) once every week.

There must be something wrong with your setup if the browser is crashing with only 2 tabs open. Have you tried restoring the ipad or trying a different browser?

iPad mini 1 and 2 have different hardware, the 2 is the same as the 3 without the finger print sensor.
The 2 and 3 are not latest tech now but perfectly capable and are still gutsy little machines with a very good screen, £140 for this is a bargain, will it replace my surface pro no, but it's not intended to.

Whats the point in 16gig these days, like people have said once you have done a few updates, plus a few apps all the memory is gone. All devices should be at least 32 gig with a micro sd slot. The days of £100 extra for 32 or 64 gb should be long gone.
