This looks like a good price for the 1TB version of this machine. I have a lesser version of a Humax PVR and it works just fine, in fact I almost wish it would break then I could replace it with this one!

The tech spec says it weighs 15kg so could easily double as a weights set... if you are feeling really strong buy 2!

Is this much different to the new ultra hd you view box supplied by BT ? Anyone know or care to explain for me ? Thank you

Size, the BT box is about the third of a size of a shoe box. BT TV services, not sure what the size of the hard drive is.
checked the site out, some good deals, but £21 for delivery really hikes up the price.

Anyone tried one? I've got the original and it's slow and clunky. This any better?

I wouldn't personally buy this. I think I tried one or two of these and they both locked up. The later model is ok. But I really struggled with this model.

can anyone recommend a cheap wifi dongle that works with Humax?

these aren't a patch on older Humax models. you'd be better off getting a refurbished FOX2

I cancelled my sky subscription some time back but still use the sky box to view free channels. Can I connect the cables from the sky dish to this?

No pal, this is a Freeview box. You'd need a Freesat box (HB1000 or HDR1000) for connecting to Sky dish.

anyone got one of these? Does it put recording in folders. I prefer that. I can keep grown up movies buried in subfolders away from the kids.

Short answer no. BT will ask you to return it but if you paid anything towards it (a lot of people paid £50) then remind them of this and they will stop asking. Once you stop your BT subs you will no longer have access to any recordings you have made on any of the paid for/included internet channels and you will obviously have no access to the BT section.

This is a YouView box, does this mean it doesn't do FreeView??

?
Title and actual deal say Freeview?

Freeview is Freeview
Freeview Play is Freeview with iPlayer + ITV Hub + All4 + My5 + UKTV Play
YouView has the above plus Netflix & Now TV Movies, with the ability to pay BT, TalkTalk or PlusNet for extra channels via Internet.
Freesat is for people who used to have Sky or don't have an aerial.
And Humax is the best brand for all of them (general opinion I think).

Great deal. Does this model allow you to edit out adverts like the 9200T?

Are they still suffering from issues with skipping during playback of recordings from certain channels? Started with Family Guy on BBC 3 when it went cg and nowadays affects anything recorded from channel 4 group of channels. Very frustrating and, although admitted as an issue by Humax, never fixed.

Having damaged the AV out on my 30 month old 2000T 500 GB am looking at upgrading to a new box. I want to upgrade TV also to 4k/ UHD but as i watch most of my TV as a recording from the box it seems little point. Is there anything coming along in the NEAR fiture that would have 4K recording and catch up tv (not sure if catch up is transmitted in 4k/ uhd), i understand that recording 4K would take a chunk of memory but rarely save anything long term, just find it easier to watch a programme when i want rather than when the TV companies say i have to.
