I love my gadgets and this looks really smart and unlike most of my gadgets this will take up hardly any room in the kitchen as its only 28cm x 15cm x 30cm. It comes in 3 different colours, cream, red or brushed silver and it has an impressive 19 bars of pressure so the coffee should taste amazing too.
It takes the illy coffee pods / capsules and you can change the size of the drink in the settings. It has an 800ml tank and an onboard waste bin for 9 used capsules.
You don't get any capsules with the machine but they are all readily available from ocado, ebay, amazon,anothercoffee.co.uk etc.
Same machine is £109 from appliance house, £94.99 on eBay, £89.65 from Amazon and with the free delivery £29.99 seems a real bargain.
Jeeze! It's just like buying a printer, they give 'em away and kill you on the ink.....

You can get a Nespresso machine for £50 or a Lavazza for £40 and the pods are much cheaper and lot's of other companies do their own pods for these machines as well (especially Nespresso, both Lidl and Aldi do decent pods for Nespresso now) so I have to vote cold.

Received mine the day after ordering, but have only had a chance to use it twice so far. Seemed a little bit on the cold side and didn’t make much coffee, however I’ve since seen that you can adjust how much coffee comes out on each of the two settings, so will try that.
Part of me is wondering if I should have paid an extra £2 and got the Bosch Tassimo Vivy. Would be interested to hear what other people think about it if they’ve received it yet?

Good price, but if you actually like coffee you'll be wanting a real espresso machine, beans and a grinder.

But only snobs actually think like that. I like my coffee and have all of the above. But I also have a Nespresso, moka pot and filter pot and I like them all.

People comparing the capsule prices to bags of beans... beans go off very quickly. If I open a bag of beans at the weekend, by the following weekend, they're starting to taste stale. Beans are great if you can get through a whole bag in a week but otherwise it's a waste... unless you just can't tell your coffee is stale.
The capsules last ages. Read Maxwell Colonna-Dashwood's findings regarding pods. He actually knows what he's talking about.
I've spent fortunes in the past on Gaggia and Rancillio equipment. Sure, if all the stars are aligned, you can get a "god shot" of espresso but generally, the standard of Nespresso pods is more consistent if less interesting. Go to Colonna coffee for more interesting "proper" coffee in pod form.
As for the environment, we recycle all our pods with Nespresso.

What about the chemicals in it?what about when you drink a late from a machine like this?that milk comes from a lot a chemicals. Real beans, kept as it should be, a good grinder and a real espresso machine gives you proper coffee. Not this invention that is a big lie.

A purchase like this isn't about the cost if machine, it's about the consideration of longevity of consumables. Vs. Nespresso and Tassimo who already dominate a challenging market, this is such a risk of becoming a dusty gadget destined for the bin within the year.

Why do people think that 19 bars means a better coffee?thats how they trick you into buying these machine. A real, proper coffee is made at 9 bars. No more than that. 19 bars is a s**** coffee and its a marketing things.
PS: and price/kg when it comes to pods is waaay more than a famous coffee. Long term - its a rip off:)

Spot on. The trend had been to go even lower than 9 bars.
This machine is ****. The coffee is mediocre at very best, expensive and bad for the environment.

I'm not mad on pod machines as there isn't enough flexibility and they are environmentally rubbish but my work has a Nespresso machine that must have 100 pods a day going through it and it's still going strong after three years!

Meh. Think I'll stick with my Lavazza Modo Mio. ~25p a shot, and machine looks better imo. I've got one at home, and one at work. Both came with free milk heater/frother, which if you like milk in your coffee is essential.
Also, I've had nespresso a few times, normally in a hotel room when the machine is part of the kit that is offered. Even as a straight espresso, it always tastes/smells really disappointing. Never had a shot as good from a pod machine as I have had from my Lavazza.
Right, off to make a coffee!!

Wouldn't personally buy hotpoint white good but the reason we ended up with this was my mother wanted one and we bought it for her but ended up taking it when she passed away.
She wanted hotpoint to replace her off white goods, had always had them and they obviously don't make them like they used to because she had them for years.
Wasn't long ago Beko had to send engineers out to replace something in a fridge freezer think it was due to some going on fire where someone was killed.
I watched the engineer take our machine apart and he showed me where it could potentially go wrong but it really boils down to probably not maintaining the machine

We will never see such data but somehow other brands are not known for it as hotpoint is, I would imagine the general user is most likely the same as for the caring/maintenance of the machine.

I voted hot. I have a tassimo for the office. Coffee is ok but capsules are expensive same as this thing. I have a bean to cup machine at home which can make lattes etc and while the initial outlay for the machine is more I think in the long run it's cheaper and the coffee is far superior.

Aliexpress sell a refillable capsule and tamper, though it's not cheap! Might as well buy a manual espresso machine in the first place.
Possibly not ideal for this particular model if it drops the used capsules into a tray.
