I bought this TV at around £750 previously and have found it excellent value for money. The picture quality and features are better than you'd expect for the price. It can't compete with the likes of OLED; and it doesn't have 'proper' HDR, but I think you would struggle to find a decent 65" 4K telly for less. Use code GET40 to bring the price down to £692 (also some topcashback)

Is John Lewis price match real? There always seems to be an excuse.
John Lewis - knowingly undersold.

Yet another arrogant comment from a person of clearly low intelligence. If you start insulting people, they will return insults.

You are moaning about me complaining and you cannot accept the argument. You don't need to moan. You can ignore my comments. A dishonest company would not entertain a complaint. I also do not respect your advice. Perhaps, you should not offer it. I am not your mate (thank God).

Only one person moaning in this thread mate and it ain't me. As I said before, if you don't like their policy, tell them. I couldn't care less.
65" Panasonic VT plasma. I grabbed one when they announced they were stopping making plasma TV's.
I don't like LCD based TV's. Never have. Never will. The VT won't be getting replaced until I go OLED ....

Pro's and Con's for John Lewis are irrelevant as they won't price match this anyway as AO.com are online and JL only price match competitors that have physical stores (or physical store + website).

not strictly true as i got JL to match a samsung 49ku6400 the other day which was retailing for £629 on their website and only £574 on Direct tv. checked back today and they have lowered their price to £599, so knowingly undersold as they have had a week to amend their prices.

Wow you really do not understand honesty and integrity. You really have a love for JL don't you?
If a company states "never knowingly undersold" and you show they there are lower prices, then they know they are undersold. Honesty means they lower the price for all or stop making the claim.
It really is that simple. If you cannot understand this, this I suggest you stop protecting dishonesty and moaning on here when the truth is clear. JL's claim is simply dishonest.

Jeez. You really have a bee in your bonnet about JL don't you!
In my case, they were selling at RRP. And it was the RRP. As you could easily check on the manufacturer store site. Several other places were also selling at full RRP. Some were selling slightly lower. One place was selling way lower, but was a long way from me. They price matched against them. I saved a pile of cash, got a better warranty, and easier delivery. They did not reduce the instore price. Nor does their price promise say they will.
If you have an issue with their system, I suggest you email them rather than moaning about it on here. It worked just fine for me.
lol
No. A TV almost as big as my (very small) kitchen. I could comfortably stand up straight in the box once it was empty and stood on it's end. Even my 6'9" friend who helped me get the thing on the wall could stand in it and only had to tilt his head slightly!

Can someone tell me would it be advisable just to go for a normal 65" TV as i dont really have any 4k sources??.
I have an Amazon 4k Firebox but i dont subscribe to any 4k viewing, just watch blu-rays and non 4k stuff from my box
ie Alpha and all the free stuff.
Does it make normal viewing better,Sky HD,blu-rays etc??

RRP means nothing. It is price maintenance for cartels. The market sets the price.
So, JL accepted they were undersold and when you alerted them they were undersold did they automatically lower the price in store and online as an honest organisation would be expected to so they would not knowingly be undersold?
I bet the answer is no.

I just believe they are dishonest as soon as a price match is undertaken prices should be reduced for everyone and they do not do this.

There must be some lucky people on here who can accommodate a screen thus big. Most people I know have homes where a 55 inch screen would be too big especially since not much content is in 4k or even HD for some so the picture quality won't be up to much!

So, they were over charging people £700. Did they reduce the price for everyone in store and online when they accepted they were undersold, or did they try and deceive people by maintaining the same price?

JL refused to price match a vacuum cleaner for me, even when I had the receipt from Currys showing it was £49.99 and JL had charged me £159.99 just 2 days before. They did refund me though (eventually) so I just kept the Currys one, but £110 is a ridiculous amount to have overpaid if I'd actually kept it!
