Bleating or just giving advice from practical experience? I haven't got a bottle of the HG in the house so (genuinely) what is the extra active ingredient in the HG over bleach?
EDIT : I'll answer my own question. Its active ingredients are Sodium hypochlorite 3% (bleach) and Sodium hydroxide 1%. So its the Sodium hydroxide which is extra. Sodium hydroxide is caustic soda / NaOH.. And looking up NaOH - it "will clean the grout really well, but it will weaken and you will get soft grout essentially many grout cleaners use NaOH as an ingredient". So cleaner, weaker grout.

It is very good. Yes, use in a ventilated environment but I found that won't work any better having been left overnight; it takes mins to work and if the stain is deep, several applications may be required but do so every 5-10 mins rather than every 12 hrs.

Sodium hydroxide is caustic soda which is can be bought for about a pound in most supermarkets - a small packet will make many litres of diluted product. It's also the main ingredient in sink unblockers/ drain cleaners/ patio cleaners which is why people on this thread have had success using those products.

I can't understand how so many people have mould problems in their house. Houses should not get mouldy. If you have black mould, your problem is high humidity causing condensation. This is almost always caused by poor ventilation. Long term the mould will be the least of your worries as serious structural damage will occur over time. If you suffer with mould in your house do yourself a favour and look into improving airflow and ventilation - a decent extract fan in bathrooms, cooker hood venting to outside and if that doesn't work look at positive input ventilation systems such as drimaster or envirovent. Yes they cost more than a £3 bottle of bleach but it's the proper way to resolve the problem.
this stuff STINKS I am unable to apply it myself anymore , as I get a severe headache after applying it.
I would advise to SPRAY AND RUN !!!!

This is brilliant stuff. I use it periodically around the shower/bath to keep on top of things. Works a lot letter than bleach, we were about to try to remove and replace all the grout, it looked so bad (after trying other cleaners including rubbing bleach into it with a toothbrush), then gave this ago after reading about it online and it all came up white!
For those asking about silicone it sorted the top layer of mould with 2 applications but unfortunately there were some odd spots that were like embedded in the silicone and it couldn't do anything about that, eventually cut it out and re-siliconed it. Still looked much better than it had though.

Yup. Bleach products generally contain sodium hydroxide so there is nothing really special about HG.
I use Astonish Mould & Mildew Remover which is just as good as is just a quid -
Safety data sheets give you the exact compositions, its all the same stuff - sodium hypochlorite , sodium hydroxide, and surfactants.
If you live in an older property with solid walls (ours are 2 foot thick) ventilation is only practical in some areas. Moisture will then find the coldest part of a wall and condense out.
We use a dehumidifier to help up some patches of mould will appear in preferred spots which this spray removes for quite a while.
The house has stood for 300 years so I don't think a little bit of mould is going to cause any great structural damage.
Modern living doesn't help as 300 years ago ventilation was provided by draughty windows which modern day double glazing has sealed up.
