Seems to be a pretty good price for a Halfords Advanced set.

Had a set of halfords advanced sockets for years and can't grumble. The lifetime warranty rocks, i've had to use it for other tools in the halfords advanced range but not the sockets, ratchets or spanners.
If i was buying again, i'd look for 6 point sockets rather than 12 point. That's because i live in Rustland, i mean Scotland.

Lots of good reviews for halfords advanced tools so hot from me.
What I can't get over (and it's a niggle) is the poor quality / appearance of the case.

The case is also included in the lifetime guarantee so if it breaks just return it and get it swapped for a brand new one.

Maybe you need the non-advanced model

Gets even cheaper with code B17WT02. 10% off and I checked that it works, so at £54 a real hot bargain.

Halfords Trade Card price is £49.99. No codes accepted.

I need a professional torque wrench for an aspiring mechanic (full size, full range)
Anyone know which is best?
Pressie for my son.

halfords pro torque wrenches are as good as anything really, without paying a lot more. 'full range' doesn't mean anything though.

was looking at this today, such a shame they are 12 point sockets or i would have definitely got one
if anybody can recommend a nice set for around this price with 6 point sockets and at least 1/2" & 1/4" drive ratchets id appreciate the input

The lidl sets are excellent, can't remember if powerfix is the brand but they are cr2 metal same as halfords. I was in the opposite position to you, have the lidl and used it loads but there are times when a 12 point socket would make things in a tight spot much easier so I bought the halfords rail set (10-19mm I think) which is 20 quid so now I've got best of both for about £60.

Had a look at these in store a week or 2 ago, was decent quality tools but case is a bit shoddy.

Thanks. I saw earlier that lidl have a set from Sunday, but they are multipoint sockets too unfortunately. I think I scared myself nearly rounding off a calliper bolt using a 12 point socket. Any car I have isn't going to be new, so likely to have rusted up bolts and id much prefer a 6 point on them.
Here it is anyway http://www.lidl.co.uk/en/our-offers-2491.htm?action=showDetail&id=37904

Ah no that's not the brand then, it'll be around the £40 mark in a bigger case and has a decent ratchet as well. That one looks good for the money tho it's the s2 steel.
