book on official Virgin East Coast site until end of day 9 October for travel 10 Oct to 16 December. not sure if you need to be a virgin red member (get app free) code is RED50LWL. not sure if it just works without having the app. its those two routes only but means many £5 fares fro. Wakefield. WiFi is now free too for the whole journey.

I was wondering that. Think you have to book using the Virgin Red app and go through the link on that. £5 fares are probably mid week after 10am

If you go into the app & click on the offer, it opens a link to a webpage where you enter the code then search for available seats. As I went through on my iPod, I'm sorry but wasn't able to get the url for the link.

only in August. fairly boring the rest of the year not a patch on Manchester for festivals, events, theatre, shows, gigs, gallery launches, free stuff events, chamber music, public event programme at university, public events in town hall, museums all free.

Yes - you have to sign up and then go through the app. Couldn't find anything for the weekend that didn't involve me selling a body part to pay for the fare.
