GHTV is a better system for the casual player - £40 for the game, two controllers, and a catalogue of 500+ songs. Sure, you can't freely choose every track you want to play, but under the old (or current Rock Band) system a catalogue this big would have cost a small fortune. If you're not the type to keep buying extra tracks, GHTV will keep things fresh for no extra outlay.
On the flipside, if you've already amassed a huge catalogue of songs and are willing to invest to expand it further, the new Rock Band is probably the better purchase.
£36.99 in argos! And £39.99 is the retail price for this everywhere. I suspect there's going to be chargeable updates due that you're gonna want to buy as they seem to be giving away double the usual for half the usual price of old model!!

I just got a mail stating my GAME order is being packed...! Maybe the pre-release date was wrong?

Avoid GAME at all costs. They DO NOT honour warranties on any Microsoft/accessory products anymore. You have to go directly through Microsoft which takes a lot of time and effort.

I thought the guitar was quality, more realism and enjoying various songs, although not played it that much yet thanks to deals every week on different games....

Decided to buy this, then... "You cannot use GAME Wallet because there are pre-orders in your basket."
What kind of stupid policy is that? Think I'll drop them an email to find out when it's coming back in stock.

Sounds like you need a game to chill to  Those are all quite fast paced - twitch reaction shooters.
Guitar hero can be the finger mashing hell you want to beat or the soothing playalong you need depending on the level of ability / difficulty you choose.

Thanks for that, now I just have to convince myself it would actually get played with Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2 and Infinite Warfare / Modern Warfare remastered in my queue!

6 buttons - 2 rows of 3 buttons instead of 5 single buttons in a row. makes for harder shapes to make with the "fret" hand and I found it more challenging than the older versions as a result. I play on medium to chill and Hard to challenge myself (I played all previous games).
The playlist is like a music channel on live which changes the playlist every hour from say, pop to rock, rock to metal, and so on, there are two free channels you can play on so you have choices.
If you want to play your own choice of songs, you play the single player or you spend the credits you earn just by playing online to play your chosen songs.
I never spent anything on it and didn't feel the need to play the same songs over and over as I was happy with the choices given.
Having said that I just sold my version I got for xmas last year as I had my progress wiped out by a corrupted save and couldn't face starting all over again.
I think it's a great game - so long as you don't feel the need to choose you own songs on repeat and occasionally play your own choice from regular playthrough earnings you should never need the extra credits.

Was going to buy the standard for 30 on Smyths, no delivery option, 40 for the supreme edition with 2 guitars is an absolute steal! Heat
Bit miffed that I have to wait til December though, Amazon have it now!

Not worth it...
I bought it as the single pack for £25 and it took me 2 days to complete the single player mode.
The online bit is okay, but is just a modified version of karaoke, and you have little control over the tracks you play.
You know have to "earn" in order to go and play in free mode.
Guitar has now joined all the previous models in the under-stairs cupboard!

I would, but even though it's a good deal I'd only play it once. Then put it with the rest of the controllers, guitars etc and just no.

nothing in store. they can't even order it in from warehouse.
I'm confused that it's showing as pre order given that it's in stock at all other retailers.
my local smyths still have the single guitars at 19.99 which I have 2 stored away for Xmas. But if there is extra content with this, I'll take the other 2 singles back if this arrives
great price and ordered anyway. hot.

I'm tempted as it's been a long time since I've played Rock band/Guitar hero..
Apart from slightly shinier graphics, what does this offer that the last gen versions didn't do?

The way it works is actually pretty good. You get some free play tokens per day which you can use from the full songlist. Run out of tokens and its then like a radio playlist. I never feel the need to buy any additional stuff. The music videos in the background is much better over rockbands style too. Recommended.

In the U.S. they'll be getting '$9.99 Hero Cash' with the bundle. Ours sounds along the same lines.

It's also £57.99 at Amazon if you have Prime at the moment
I can't see it detailed anywhere!
Good deal if that's the case
So micro transaction money.
Both these have fallen from £59.99 on Game. Best I've seen elsewhere is £51.99 @ Argos.
