I have an Edwin Jagger, badger brush, many brands of blades, and creams, etc.... and yet I keep going back to my Nivea shaving gel, and Aldi razor, because this combination gives me the smoothest possible shave.
The blades are reasonably priced and last a long time.
Each to their own.

I've only recently started DE shaving with this kit below ....... my Dad used this method - yes he like me - got the odd miniscule nick once every 3 shaves or so - but it heals within minutes and invisible the next day - NO WORSE than multi bladed over priced rubbish
I won't be going back to multi blades - this is now a treat in the morning - and how "real men" shave :smirk:

cmon fellas, no one into DE shaving? Cheap, produces a better finish + little or no irritation.

Please tell how you know it is available at the store, I thought the point of hukd was so other people could share deals, this seems a good way to get people into stores, asda wins

Yes totally agree about the switch to DE (safety razor) shaving - there's a revival in this form of shaving due to the rip off cost of
"big name" multi bladed cartridges.
Lets stop funding these greedy corporations to the tune of 2000 % profit on their blades
It costs Wilks and Gillette somewhere between 10p and 20p to make a blade - which they usually sell for 15 to 20 times that - there are mild razors right up to more aggressive razors - you WILL not cut yourself if you start with a mild razor and TAKE YOUR TIME
.... you'll have less tugging a better shave - less risk of ingrown hairs....... and like others say blades at 10 to 15p each
for me is the clincher - join the revolution !!

Oh and I voted hot, decent little deal I'm sure in the cheapo stores (home bargains, b&m etc.) they are £20

Yeah its not for everyone, but you only usually shred yourself if somethings wrong somewhere. Tried getting my brother into it but he just couldn't get along with it. If anyone is looking into getting into DE shaving feel free to get in touch btw.

I was thinking of going double edge razor, this trawling for blades to some brand new system us dragging me down... £10 for the razor and about £10 for a hundred blades... That's the future.. The past

Or just use an electric shaver? I'm most concerned about avoiding irritation, and electric seems best for that. You do need to buy new foils and cutters, but only every 2 years or so, depending on usage.
Interested in DE though, and this is a good deal for a Gillette.
Can't stand their marketing or attitude though.
You'd think by now they'd have adopted a Bulldog/Man Cave modern marketing approach rather than the overt and rather lame fast car performance crap.
But I'm kind of glad they don't, as it'd be totally fake from them. Owned by P&G after all.

Nowhere does the poster suggest that this is national, and he is not forcing people to look. You are being asked to vote on the deal that is available at the store the op specified. Is it a genuine offer available at that store? Yes. Is it a good price for the product? Yes. Therefore hot deal.

Definately. In fact their designers are probably working on 7, 8, 9 & 10 blade models.
Its ridiculous marketing ploys. I still use 2 blade razors as anything above clogs up with hairs between the blades.
Although i didn't know they existed till today, I can totally see why the Merkur DE razors are so premium.

Multi-bladed razors are the solution to the problem of manufacturers asking "how do we make more money out of shaving?".
Convince the punter more blades are better. More blades are ****. They get clogged up in about three passes of my face and take ages to unclog. And a cartridge costs about 20x a single blade. How is this better?

You've been conditioned into believing that more blades is better by clever/deceptive marketing... at least you're shaving and not sporting a hipster Amish beard I suppose.
DE razors give a better shave for lower cost. It may require a larger initial investment but a quality DE razor will last a lifetime. I wouldn't go back to a multiblade cartridge razor if I got a lifetime supply for free.
Hot in terms of what they usually cost though, even if the manufacturing cost is about 5p per blade.
