If like me you are a sucker for gaming tat but missed out on the Fallout 3 Collectors Edition when it was released but always wanted a lunchbox you probably will never do anything with but didn't want to spend more than £15 then today is your lucky day as they appear to re releasing it.

I don't know why, but I preordered one. Thanks for costing me £15 I didn't need to spend!

The exact reasons why people collect things are unknown, the psychological reasoning is >
"It has been speculated that the widespread appeal of collecting is connected to the hunting and gathering that was once necessary for human survival. Collecting is also associated with memory by association and the need for the human brain to catalogue and organise information and give meaning to ones actions; the psychological aspects of which are shared between both sexes."

My desire to NEVER use Game again overrides my desire for one of these.

This is odd timing, unless of course it's to coincide with a GOTY version of Fallout 4. That said, I'd rather a re-release of Fallout 3 and New Vegas on ps4.

Wasn't really the paint, it was dents on the sides and the lid becoming misshapen and harder to close. It's in a cupboard now storing treasured memories. Probably wouldn't have been so concerned at £15, but I got this with FO3 on day one.

Should add that this is a collector's item first and foremost. If you try to use this as a day to day lunch box, it's going to get very easily dinged up.

I'm thinking one of two options
1) It's weathered anyway so it will make it look more authentic
2) Spray the painted bits with clear lacquer to stop it getting scratched.

Wow! Think I paid about £9.99 for my Fallout 3 with this and the bobblehead. It's quite small but would fit a sandwich and a bag of crisps in.

Yes, I wish I grabbed one back then but I didn't know I liked Fallout as much as I do now, this lunchbox (or the original ones) go for closer to £30 on eBay.

That's what I think I paid for mine. It was in a Gamestation lead up to Xmas deal, they did one deal a day. Ah memories

Nuka World lunchbox also available to pre-order for the same price.
Is that why everyone else is buying them?
