Plusnet are currently doing a deal for £17.99 (i.e. monthly line rental) = free broadband for 12 mths
thats far cheaper than £190

roughly with good data deals it works out to about £1 per Gb data (i.e. apart from 'unlimted data' deals),
so for this to be a deal for me it has to be £25 not £69.99
(i.e. 2Gb per month x 12 = 24GB = 24 x £1 = £24)

I'm on three sim only . £20 per month gives you unlimited data , 200 mins of calls , unlimited txt and 30gb of tethering ! That's my phone and home wifi sorted for £240 for the year minus £50 purchasing through Quidco = £190. This deal would be only good for 2 days of that for me!

So you use the hotspot function of your phone for everything you use in your house I presume rather than as a mifi device? Doesn't that kill your phone battery completely?
I only ask as my download speeds on 3 are on a par with my virgin fibre. I can't get BT fibre (their cabinet is somewhere in the 1890s still) so I'm looking ahead at options - a mifi device would work but then I'm paying for 2 sims which doesn't work in a cost saving way.
With regard to this thread, my current 3 contract is 2GB a month, and is ample for me

Not a good deal. I was able to get a Huawei 4G mifi for £20 months ago from Carphone Warehouse. The 12GB 3 SIMS are around £20 each so total of £60 and no 2GB a month data limit.

don't see the point of these when tethering is easy and cost effective (if you factor in that everyone needs a mobile anyway and is likely already spending at least £10 a month on it), ie simply spend a few more £££s on a mobile tariff if extra data needed

This gets posted every few months or so. If I recall it's 24gb valid for 12 months as opposed to 2gb per month - might be wrong of course. If I'm right and you do hammer your data, this isn't the deal for you as you'll use up your entire allowance in under a month.
Horses for courses and all that.

Only one who watches it would know how much data it consumes.
On a more serious note, I could rinse this in less than a week playing game of war.
But seem people have use for it in maybe a car or something so haven't voted.
Why on earth would you smash the pie out of mobile data that hard?

2gb of data... use that up in 5 mins, even my Mum who I set up her 15gb per month mini, she gets through it in about 10 days, she needs triple that. I don't get how they can charge so much for such a low useless cap, it means you cannot watch video and you can enjoy ads just draining your data as mobile systems don't support ad blockers well.

Your title is misleading. It should just state the facts, which is you get 2gb per month, which is not a years worth for alot of people.

Just to add, I know 2gb isn't a huge amount, but I get 15gb per month on my phone contract, so it just saves messing around tethering for occasional use when I'm away from WiFi
