Surprised nobody else has posted this, but perhaps after the minus 200+ degrees of the 3 month promo, people are being careful.
Anyway, it's valid from today until midnight Tuesday 4th and it's for a maximum of 100 listings.
Offer by invitation only, but if you usually get promos then you'll probably get this one.
Please read terms and conditions before asking about other fees etc...
As with previous percentage discounts on fvf, it's possible some people have got a slightly different version with a better discount, so check in the promotions section of your home page or selling manager.
Sorry I didn't check back sooner - some people didn't understand what 'fvf' is - it's the fee ebay charge on the total sale i.e. selling price plus postage. It's usually 10% for private sellers, so if you've got this promo then the fee will be 7.5%.

WOW, instead being charged 10% + 3.75% paypal fee they'll charge me only 7.5% + 3.75% real offer! Another ebay rip off deal! So now on £400 item you'll be only charged almost £50 fee.... Perhaps NO THANKS!

2 Oct 163#2
Just to add...... for anyone who has got the 3 month 100 listings per day promo, this is an extra and so can be used for the higher value items still unsold, and you can actually list 100 + 100 on the same day.
Don't forget that once you have clicked to accept this offer, the first 100 single quantity listings after that will come off this promo and not any others, so list the cheapies either before accepting this promo, or after you have used all 100 - fairly obvious really, but there's always someone on the ebay forums who complains that they misunderstood.
Good luck to all who've got this and can use the full 100.

While people continue to vote this HOT and think this is a good deal Ebay will keep ripping us off!
I think it's a disgrace how they think they can add "Final Value Fees" to your postage costs.
Here are the FVF's in Switzerland and they have a similar Free listing fee to the UK
retail price sales commission
Not sold No commission
CHF 1.00 - CHF 100.00
4% of the selling price
CHF CHF 100,01- 1000,00
3% the selling price of CHF 100.00, plus. CHF 4.00
CHF 1000.01 and higher
1.5% the selling price of CHF 1000.00, plus. CHF 31.00
No fee on postage costs!
It used to be okay to sell on Ebay but I now only sell when they have good offers, which this isn't!

Not a great deal but better than paying 10% FVF. Preferred the pay £1 Max or £2 Max fees offer of a few weeks back but that must have cost eBay a fortune in revenue so would be surprised if we see it again.

Hot as anything better than the normal fees are a good offer, but you usually get at least one offer per month lasting 2 or 3 days. In the past while there has been 75% off final value and £1 max fees. So keep an watch out for email invitations and remember you have to accept the invitation before the offer is valid, if you list anything during the promotional period without accepting the offer first you will still pay the normal fees.
Babbler
3 Oct 16#82
You missed my point. If you sell on ebay your fees are covered by people paying more than they would at a boot sale or gumtree...
Eg. sell an item for 250 on flea bay. Fees. £25. Ie you end up with £225.
Sell on gumtree for £200. End up with £200.
J0n35y
3 Oct 161#81
I've bought and sold plenty of high value things on Gumtree - normally musical instruments. As long as you stick to insisting on using Paypal goods and services and incurring a 3.4% fee you are largely as protected as you would be with Ebay and significantly better off in terms of fees to pay.
Ebay does my nut in - even more so now that they are taking a fee on postage. I once sold an electric piano through Ebay which weighted in at about 25kg and would be costly to courier but Ebay had none of that and still took a cut. I now put items up at inflated prices but ask folk to get in touch for a private sale if they want it cheaper. In total breach of the rules but has worked well for the past 2 years or so.

I suppose classing this as a deal is the best way to ensure as many people as possible read it, as I'm sure not everyone bothers to look through the other sections of hukd...... I know I don't have time, and so only ever scan through the deals.
Perhaps it's a bit like people posting grocery items which are much cheaper in one shop, but are the normal price for that shop, for example something on sale in Waitrose for a pound might always be 70p in B&M but still gets posted if someone hasn't seen it that cheaply before - is that technically a deal ?
Not everyone gets an email or perhaps they have so much other junk arriving that they could overlook the notification, whilst others have an email account purely for ebay and might not check it regularly enough to take advantage of the promo.
There are also cases every time there's a promo, of people not getting the email but clicking on the link and being able to use it - some you win and some you lose, but surely it's better to post these things and help a few people rather than not bother just because it's not open to everyone - I don't vote negative every time there's an amazon prime deal which I cannot use, or an instore deal for a supermarket which doesn't have a branch near me...... isn't this the same sort of thing really ?

It's one of those questions which are frequently asked, but nobody has the answer to it - at one time some people thought it was to encourage those who had not listed for a while, but I list as much as I am allowed every month and I still get the promos.
I've had the odd negative feedback for something I can't control like damage or loss in transit, but still get the promos, so it's not only 100% accounts either - my best guess is that it's a combination of things like category as well.
I often sell in collectables, and perhaps ebay are trying to push that side of things, but then other family accounts used for clothing often get them.
There was a bit of a comment in that recent 3 month promo about illegal business sellers not paying taxes.......... I have my own small business not connected to ebay, so to be on the safe side, whenever I send in tax returns I declare everything bought on ebay as business purchases, and every penny of sold items is declared as earnings, so if there should ever be a close examination of my accounts, all the paypal stuff is in there as well - doesn't affect my tax situation and I can sleep soundly at night.

I realise 25% off the ebay fee is not a lot if you only sell a couple of cheaper items, but if you sell even 10 of your listings, and the total price is £100 then you save £2.50 - again not a lot, but I see people on here go mad about a few pence cashback on quidco or topcashback.
At the end of the day it's something for nothing, and if you are not getting the 100 per day 3 month promo, then this is a chance to list an extra 100 items with no listing fee - regular ebay sellers usually keep listings in somewhere like drafts or scheduled (remember to keep changing the date or they'll go live with a fee !) ready for this sort of promo.
I have already listed my things a week ago, but I'll just go through my active listings and end those with a combination of highest price and shortest time left, so I get the benefit of the discount and a new 30 day period.
